contemplating doing a new auto set

As i am now so close to completing 2006-07 ultimate signatures i am thinking on doing anothher auto set. I am trying to decide between 06-07 Parkhurst and 2008-09 Masterpieces. I would like to hear what collectors of these sets think is a harder set to complete(looking to do the easier one). I already have about 15 of the brushstrokes so i am leaning more towards that one.

Basically let me know which autos are hardest to get from these sets

I would imagine the Parkhurst is tougher. Bigger, more SPs, and more redemptions.

Don't think you could go wrong with either set though. I've been building up my own autograph collection lately, and keep comming back to those two sets for cards to target.

Yep, Parkhurst is very difficult. The Lemieux SP will cost hundreds alone. Go with Brushstrokes.

Ahh i was not thinking of redmptions(dislike them) so this is a major drawback if parkhurst has more of them

Yeah. As you can imagine - with a set that big, they didn't get all of them out ontime.

The redemptions have also expired now, so I think anything that will be released (and put out to market) is already there.

Most of the cards were made, and with the set being a few years old now.... if they were made, I would assume you should be able to track them down.

Which cards were never made though - that's a hard one to figure out.

I know what you mean about finding out which ones were never made being hard.

My 2006-07 ultimate signatures cards i need to finish the set i have not even seen 5 of them to know for sure if they exist or not. I have had people tell me they do and others who tell me they dont

Did a little digging, as I was sure there was a thread not too long ago - talking about which cards were never made. Found it:

I think it will be brushstrokes so now comes the research to see what ones are hard to get. I only know the lanny mcdonald is hard to get and i already have that one...lol

I picked Parkhurst but why not pick another year for Ultimate? Just go for all years of Ultimate.

I thought about that but 2007-08 and its 14 unchecklisted cards that are all SP'ed and only available through UD redemption replacements turned me from doing that. I also dont really care for current NHLer's(find the "new NHL" kinda boring) so i wanted a retired star or semi star set
