Six away from 500!
I keep cards with autographs, memorabilia, print runs of /25 or less and cards not priced due to scarcity in: penny sleeve, toploader, team bag.
The others are in penny sleeves and in a binder.

My auto sets and my Lupul collection are sleeved and toploaded in a team bag or in a magnetic holder and then team bagged. My Masterpieces parallels and jersey cards are sleeved and in a huge binder.

No Prob. If someone wonder how can I put thick patch & stick cards to a binder and how cards fit to in a slots? Answer is my very thick (fat!) decoy card. I push it in a slots couple of times, (crush is a little bit too heavy word, but something like that) After that patch card fits easily in a slot.

I think it depends on the size of your PC. Including 1/1s, a Kris Russell PC only has 115 cards. But some players have hundreds or thousands of cards.
Both of my PCs (Brad Boyes + Corey Perry) have between 500-600 cards each. I've got all their cards in binders that I found. The binders were actually made for football (Donovan McNabb on the cover), but I love them because they come in sleeves, so they are kept away from most air and moisture.
I think if I collected someone that had thousands of cards, I'd lean towards just doing binders for base/inserts/lower level GU/autos and slabs for the better cards.
The bigger the investment, the more you want to protect.

For all the player I collect:
Everyting over 15 $ BV is store in top loader or screw holders in boxes.
The rest, mainly inserts, parallels and some GU (I don't collect bases) is stored in binders (I have a dozen binders).
In binders, I follow what I call the Beckett order: I regrouped together cards from the same year, and place them in pouch in the same orders sets are listed in the Becket magazine (alphabeticaly).
What I don't like, is moving my stuff all over again to follow the Beckett order when I get an older cards. Not that I don't like to look at my cards or so, but because I constantly feel that I might break a corner. So, I updated my binders only once in a while.
While they wait to be part of my binder, cards are stored in a box, in a penny sleeve.I collect the following:
- Vintage (Stars and RC)
- 2010-11 ITG Decades (Auto, GU, bases)
- Stars from the 1980s (in modern sets)
- Montreal Canadians Legends (bases, inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)
- Montreal Canadiens actual players (inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)

I have about 275 Brodeur cards. Everything is in penny sleeves and toploaders and stored in a box. I used to keep the base and inserts in a binder, but i realized that binders and pages are pretty expensive and this was cheaper alternative. Plus, the few autos I have are kept out of sun and dust this way.
