well i'm still working on reaching 20 but so far everyone here has been great. I've had to take a leap of faith sending first or what's worse, paying first. Easiest way to earn 20 feedback i guess is to make purchases. Hey if you don't want to send first, we all pay first for anything in life so you might as well build up feedback that way so you can get to the point where you don't have to send first anymore.

It does suck, sending first! But it is what it is. I have been burned once or twice, but it happens on Ebay too. the internet part of collecting, buying and trading is just plain different than the "in person" trading and card shows of the past.
At least it seems like they are in the past.

Also, its still a leap of faith when you send at the same time as someone. you don't know necessarily that they've sent when you do or that they ever will

I am shocked to see this thread. It seams like common logic that a newbie would send first to insure less scamming.

I have had to send first on every site that I am on. It is just the way that it works to build trust from the other members of the site. You have to prove yourself a good trader. I am a MOD with over 500 trades on another site and I still have to send first. I don't complain about it, I just do it. Frankly, I find people that complain about the rule are usually the ones who are the scammers. I am not calling any of you scammers, but in my experience, it's scammers who protest this particular rule.
One of the other ways to work a trade would be to find a MOD who would be willing to be a middle man/woman. Both parties would send to the MOD, with appropriate additional postage or $ for the MOD to re-send. Once the MOD has both sides of the trade, he then sends each trader thier respecive end. Just another option that I have seen work in the past.Jflan702

I stated earlier in this thread to not post here if you have more than 10 feedback. All of you with over 10 are biased and feel as if you are right. This thread was meant for new traders to post their opinions, not for veterans to insult us.

When I joined, I had to send first, and I was actually a horrible trader, as I was young and didnt know what I was doing, the MSF rule, not only allowed me to learn how to trade, but to make good on any problems with other traders..
You can call it bias, but even me with 1,500 feedback now did have to send first almost 3 years ago..I've avoided being scammed by the MSF rule, countless timesHidden Content
