All Inclusive The Cup is LIVE Thread: Thoughts on EVERYTHING CUP!
I hope when the checklist is put up today it has a lot better content overall then whats showing in the early going of the breaks.
I see dudes like Ryan Stoa in the Signature Patches and Drayson Bowman in the Limited Logos subsets?
I know UD should put some rookies in there like Duchene, Tavares, etc but Ryan Stoa? Drayson Bowman? Really?
I'll withhold my final judgment until it is posted and see how the tins are playing out.
I bet Rob Blake isn't in there! Haha!
As far as the designs, not so impressive so far.
As I mentioned before, I think they are drab. I know the white makes the signatures pop and that is great but the lack of holographic foil and or something "sparkly" or "shiny" to give the cards more aesthetic appeal would be nice.
Again, need to see more of it..............
Thoughts the first few hours into the "official" release date?
EDIT: This image truly deserved to be in the first post of this thread.

How's this to whet your appetite? Just got this picture this morning from my friend Mark (BreakAwayCards) who is doing his MASSIVE annual Cup break with a friend. Here's a shot of his first 52 cases of The Cup all sealed up in his house and ready to go!

I just like how all the autos are on card/on swatch. For the rookie cards I guess they were going for the clean look or less is more. But then again, I'm not holding one of these cards in my hand and only seeing these online. It probably looks way better in person.
but yeah they needed that checklist out to see what other rooks are in the product. one shouldn't be surprised by all the scrub rooks. there were plenty of those scrubs in last year's product.

Overall, I think UD took a positive step forward in the set by including many two+ colour patches and many of which are very unique. It's probably the one thing many have been asking for and UD really delivered this time (pretty much had to with the competition coming).
As for the selection of player patches, they have to make patches for players like Stoa and otehrs as well if they are cutting up jerseys. It would be rediculous not to use the whole jersey and if there is a time to utilize those patches, I would say it's now. I know what you're saying about Blake, but even Belfour, and others haven't been used since they left the NHL as well.
So far I have seen a ton of nice breaks. A lot of great rookies, a couple of The Cup 05-06 RCs (Miller & Brodeur), a dual scripted swatches, plus a shield

Was somewhat surprised to see the Price Base 1/1 pulled as quickly as it was. Got my eyes on it (just as a watcher! LOL) on the Bay as well as a couple others. It's cool to finally see it out there, and I'm really excited to see all the live breaks in the coming days. And of course, I am keenly watching for the Carey Programme of Excellence!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I saw that and one of the exclusive retro 05-06 Cup-style rookies of Price were pulled in the early going. I was gonna PM you but figured you had them sniffed out!

Draft Boards ARE numbered this year. Me like that, good job UD.
I also REALLY like the blue sharpie on them as opposed to the silver paint pen last year.
The paint pen popped on the black portions but faded a tad on the white letter parts. I suppose the same would be true vie versa if the blue were on the black.
That all said, I like the blue on white better than the silver on black and the fact they're numbered, both good decisions by the dudes at UD.

So far, it's been a mixed bag but anyone that was expecting anything other was probably not thinking too clearly. I don't love the design either, though I am warming to it - I do like some parts of it over last year's terrible script font and somewhat clunky gray design. It's no 05-06 of course, but what is? That being said I have seen some really nice pieces come up that just blew me away, along with a Rod Langway auto and a couple other head-scratchers - you're dead-on with the Drayson Bowman comment, Barry! So all in all, I'm a thumbs up in the early going with I'm sure lots more killer pieces yet to be found (hopefully they're all in our cases!)

Some really beautiful stuff in the early going eh? After all the wait & delays & gripes, it appears that it was all worth it.
