Rule #1.....make photocopies of your autographs and put the original away until you are confident you have your assembly method down pat. :)

For me, it was just a lot of trial and error.

I scan the auto into my computer (I use Photoshop to design my cards), design the front using the scanned auto as a guide, leave the space for the auto blank, print out the front, cut out the hole for the auto using a swivel knife, design and print out the back and assemble.

I use good double sided tape (very small strips) to secure the auto to the underside of the front....making sure everything lines up nice - you only get one shot at it and then secure the front to the back.

I have a die-cutter to punch out the final card dimensions and bingo.....cut auto.

Don't be afraid to try things. Making mistakes and starting over is part of the process in my books....but it has helped me figure out a process that I am much more happy with.

    Items I use
1:the photo to cut the autograph from

    2: clue stick

    3: photo paper

    4:printer (Lexmark X5470)

5: blank card from packs (A Decoy)

    6: ruler

    7:Paper trimmer

1st thing I do is I make the card in photoshop (3.5 X2.5 and 300 DPI)

Then I measure the autograph to find out what size I need to leave the space to be cut out on the card, I resize the space to leave enough room for the auto.

    I print the card.

I cut out the card and the window with my paper trimmer (I would suggest making a couple of cards just to get used to cutting with the paper trimmer.)

I use the paper trimmer to cut out the autograph I cut the auto bigger than will show in the window.

I use the glue stick to glue the auto to the blank, I set it aside and let it dry for usually 30 minutes.

I apply glue to the card and stick it on top of the auto and blank and then let it dry.

Thank so much you helped me out a ton. But one Q. By blank cards from packs you mean decoys/dummies (the really thick ones that don't bend at all)
    Right?
