The reason you don't see a serial number on the fake is probably because there isn't one. It's obviously been covered up in that area.

the guy has been called out for faking many cards. People that have never heard about this guy need to research more into it. There are many threads with before and after pictures of cards this "kenny" from Toronto buys and then resells with new fake "upgraded patches". Heres an example

I sent the seller a message and asked him why the serial number is covered up. It will be interesting to see if he replies and what he says.
As someone who is almost 100% brand new to all of this, I find this extremely upsetting. I don't really understand what is going on here. Some are saying the card is fake and doesn't have a serial number and others are saying he took a 1 color patch and changed it to a 4 color patch.
What do you really think is going on here? Any additional information would be helpful for a newbie like me. I realize it's all speculation at this point but it's still helpful.

The card itself is not a forgery, but the patch inside the card is. They will buy up a plain looking patch card and replace the patch with a more colorful swatch and try and flip it to make money. The card still does have a serial number, it is just common practice for the seller to cover it up with a piece of tape on the toploader, or something similar so it is harder for people to sniff out the fake before its sold. Unfortunately ebay doesn't really do squat about this issues most times, and the patch fakers get away with it.
Here is an example of a card I bought on ebay with a fake patch. I then remembered I had heard the sellers name before and contacted someone who I knew had an original picture of the card. Luckily for me the seller agreed to cancel the transaction once I confronted them with the issue. The seller was not this "Kenny" fellow, by the way.
