I agree he is tearing it up.....BUT its only 1/3 into the season.....

I would put Price, Quick, Pavelec and even Bobrovsky in the same running.......all of them are having great years....

Now for my Bias Opinion.... :)
I would like to see Thomas record/GAA/Save% when they go through a funk streak where nothing is going right....
Quick has maintained top 5 status even when the team went 1-8-1

    That is all....

Yeah really, like I'm always hearing about that guy who leads the NHL in wins, minutes played, has faced the second-most shots of any goalie yet has a GAA under 2.00 with 4 shutouts and .935SV%, and just got named 2nd Star of the Month. Even thinking of that guy for the Vezina would a real big laugher.

well when you consider he's giving up half a goal more on average to Thomas, has less shutouts than Thomas even with playing a lot more games, a lower win percentage than Thomas. Also its deceptive with the point for Price facing the second most shots in the league because he has played more games, but Tim Thomas actually has faced an average of shots higher than Price (32.56 to 30.04). It wouldn't be a laugher to include him in the 3 but it would be if someone thought he was the clear best goalie so far this season

Quick's numbers still look pretty good, but over his last seven games his save percentage is barely above .900 and I don't think he's looked very good. And it's not like he's being peppered with shots - he's only had 30 or more shots against once during that stretch.

I have a bias too, though, in that I'd like to see more of Bernier.

Just watching the leafs-Bruins games... waht a show he is putting on... If anyone else is even considered for the Vezina it would be a joke...

except the fact that there are always 3 people nominated. and also the 1/3 of the way through the season part. if Thomas were to get injured now, fantastic start or not, he's wouldn't be winning the Vezina.

I feel sorry for Tuka, I think he is suffering sitting on the bench.
Toronto never allowed him any true chance, and now Boston can't let him play.

Tim is having his YEAR, I do not see this lasting long, and you can never pick an award winner before the all-star break, because thats when a player can truely stand out as the force behind his team.

Price can also be considered right now, if votes went in today, Price leads in wins and is the true reason MTL is doing good. Tim is playing awesome, but he has a better team in front of him.

I would say, if things keep going as is, 50/50 Price/Thomas.
If MTL makes the playoffs it is gonna be Price.

According to a site that crunches the numbers, there is a 98.6% likelihood that the Habs make the playoffs. Therefore, I like your thinking. :)

I don't know how you can think that it won't continue for Thomas. As you said yourself he's playing for a better team and also he is barely more than a season removed from winning the Vezina in 08/09
