Received back Ed Roebuck to add to my collection of Brooklyn Dodgers and Buddy Lewis answered my question. His Senators played the Yankees in a doubleheader on the day Lou Gehrig made his famous speech in 1939; I asked him if he any recollection of that day, and his answer is pretty funny. I think Lewis is the last living player to have participated in that game.

Received back Albie Pearson who added his name to my Angels first game card, and Roy Sievers. Pearson was kind enough to add the inscription "first run" without being asked. I'm running our of space and players who sign TTM, so I'm going to be happy with the five sigs I have.

My next project will be to collect sigs from those who played for the Seattle Pilots during their one year of existence. I've identified seven players who appear to be good signers, starting with Rich Rollins.

Thanks. I originally sent blank ICs, but they seemed too plain to me, so I added the text and graphics with the sigs already on them. Now, I have the card printed before I send it out.
I just created a text document in Open Office (I'm sure MS Word would also work,) changed the page size to 3X5, and the margins to 0. I put the text in headers of footers depending on where the sig originally was. For the images, I did a Google image search and inserted them into the
document with a simple "copy image" and "paste."
Then I printed a test card to be sure that it looks OK, and I held it up to the light with the sig, so I can see that it was going to fit. Finally, I just ran it through the printer and hoped for the best. Lucky for me my printer didn't destroy it or the ink didn't run out.
I attached a template you can use that should open up in either MS Office or Open Office. Bon Chance!

After finding no success at his home or museum, I finally got Yogi Berra care of the Yankees ST. I'm very happy about this one.

First success in a long time: Eddie Basinski, who played for the Dodgers and Pirates in the 40s. He also added a cool inscription about being the only second baseman to make an unassisted putout at first on a ground ball.

Great success today! I received Joe B Scott, who is one of the last remaining Negro League players to have played before the league's decline that came along with integration. He signed my IC and added two cards of his own, including an Allen & Ginter's. Scott was also kind enough to answer my questions about playing in the Negro Leagues during his era . I included $10 for his time. http://www.flickr.com/photos/5602846...in/photostream
