Grading Question
Looking at a KSA grade 8 vintage card.
Wondering how KSA stacks up against the other graders of vintage cards.
Would a KSA grade 8 be comparable to a PSA or BSSG grade 8 card?

KSA isn't nearly as respected as the other grading companies in vintage cards. It will, of course, depend heavily on the card in question, but KSA usually sells nearly 2-2.5 grades lower compared to PSA (i.e. a KSA 8 will yield PSA 6 type of money on average). The older it gets, it will draw down to ~1 grade lower.
Do a quick search on here and you will find several good discussions on the differences. marclemagnifique posted on one where he showed 3 KSA cards that he bought and crossed over to BGS - 1982 OPC KSA 9.5 Joe Mullen RC, 1982 OPC KSA 9.5 Kevin Lowe RC, and 1989 OPC KSA 10 Brian Leetch RC. The Leetch came back as a BGS 9.5, the Mullen graded a BGS 9, but the Lowe came back as altered/trimmed. Definitely something to think about as you make your purchase.

No Americans are aware of Kitchener. The buggers grade hard though. I did an experiment in 1995, took an 80's OPC Rookie that had graded 8 by KSA and opened the case. Then sent it to Beckett.
Came back identical 8. KSA grades much harder than PSA

Not sure what you mean or what is implied by your statement of "No Americans are aware of Kitchener" Does the K in KSA stand for Kitchener?
The card I am looking at is an OPC Gretky rookie. Centering looks great but it does have a real rough cut (edge) down the left side. Quite common in the early years

Although KSA's HQ is located in Kitchener, ON (about an hr SW of Toronto), the acronym KSA = Kressler Sportscard Authentication.
