Hey angel!
When running you want the body to recover fast and the best way is to put in ALKALINE foods and drink.
Alkaline is somewhat new to many. I'd encourage research on the term and for advanced knowledge look again into Dr Robert O. Young's material.
You create acid when you exercise, as you do by normal living and fuctioning, and this has to be nuetralized. You flush out or elminate this acid or toxics in part with green food and if it's available ionized water.
Here's some foods that are very good for the body:
cucumber
celery
brocolli
cauliflower
kale, collards, etc all green leaves
tomato
Ruby Red grapefruit
onion
lemon
lime
There's a whole list of foods that I will provide a copy of ASAP.
And you can't forget the right sea salt. One of the best is Redmond's Real Salt.

I was researching that Dr Young and he is not that reliable. I understand the point of being healthy and all that, but I do not agree on most of his stuff.

I wouldn't say I researched him but I read his wikipedia bio and wasn't too impressed. His doctorate is from an unacreditted correspondence school and he is not licensed to practice medicine. I don't even understand how he can call himself a doctor.

lol I guess I did research it then. Anyways, I wouldn't necessarily discredit everything he says just because of that but it definitely makes me more skeptical

My favorite health web site is whfoods.com. On that site, you can look up specific foods and find a bunch of information from cited studies on how the foods can benefit you.

Angel and shortking-
There's plenty of misinformation out there.
The worst thing that can happen is something in your mind tells you to stop, back up, no way, etc.
Dr Young is about as common sense as they come.
Switching gears a little here, in the bible at Daniel chapter 1 take a look at how things turned out when the guys ate vegetables only and drank water.
Dr Young is a genuis in health I must say. I've experienced the info he shares which is really powerful.
To extend really quick, you may take an initial glance and say oh man I can't eat that or that. You are naturally having barriers, as change is difficult, and anything to tell you you can't or want will definitely rear it's head. You are then making a decision with partial understanding.
I'll pop a list up on here by tomorrow evening.
These foods I'm offering gently nourish the body, build the blood, which in turn builds cells, and you are made of 5 billion + cells.
If you want to have sustainable energy, a lean trim body, clear skin, proper digestion, an alert mind, ambition, mental clarity, to name a few benefits it'd be wise to keep pushing forward and being open to new knowledge.
I'm here to help. This is one of the best blessings I've had to date.
And to end, in reality it doesnt really take a certain degree to be a true effective doctor using simple whole foods and not killing with medication, cutting, or chemotherapy, while all along encouraging the personal responsibility side of things.
