Do they give legible nice autographs or crap ones?
Well I get guys on index and usually thats if I can't make out who they are. On the playing surface you have #'s and names to see. Some guys are tough. I'll also get them on an index if I don't have anything, especially common with someone who doesn't have anything.

EVERYONE should choose IP! doesnt even compare. meeting the player and getting there auto or send it to them via mail. In person sounds a lot better to me.

For me IP wins. I love the XMas morning TTM experience of a package, but for me the appeal of an auto on a psychological level is that it is proof that a player held a given object in his hand and actively engaged to make a souvenir for you. For me, that goes hand in hand with meeting the player.
Additionally, the "chase" in IP autos at games is really exciting. For example, watching BP down the line and seeing your favorite player signing at the dugout and having to run over and adapt is really exciting.
Also, I almost like graphing scrubs that I have heard of because these guys are generally willing to have conversations with you. It happened this spring training for me and my buddy with Jake Fox, the backup utilityman on the orioles formerly of the A's and cubs.
Additionally I have had outrageous success/luck in IP this past year, so maybe that is clouding my judgment, but I choose a resounding IP.

definitely 'TTM'. I usually get nice letters back. My IP experiences usually are an uninterested person scribbling and handing back to me.

I prefer TTM autos- I feel strange asking players my age for their autographs at the Ball park! But I do love to attend signings....

Well said. Jake Fox is really cool BTW. I kind of wish the Cubs had hung onto him, dude played from the bench and seemingly hit a HR every game he got into!

This sums up my opinion perfectly.
I love the chase of IP autos, especially when you're working on a big project (for example: http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...g/FLAG2010.jpg). There isn't a better feeling in the world then when I'm finally able to add a new driver to it that I haven't already met.

Another IP benefit vs. TTM is the overall costs associated with just "no return requests" -this does not include the confirmed no sign and/or price lists return failures. Looking through my database, since August 2007, I have the following costs for just "no retun postage":
Sent 8x10s = $56.00
Sent cards = $143.44
Total = $199.44
Over a period of almost 4 years this may not seem like much but it doesn't take into account the costs of the photos/balls/cards, folders/envelopes and other materials that are in never, never land. However, knowing the costs, I still enjoy the chase of sending for a graph...
