Extremely Frustrating... high ends
It's like everyone wants that stupid /99 patch or something really annoyingly expensive?
what's wrong with making a simple trade or sale for a YG, or a game used
I just find that so many people on here try to get that big super card...
there's too much high end, and too many dirt cheap people on here.
there's not much of a 10-25 card market on here.
Upsets me.
Everyone wants to spend money on something crazy, and everything else gets ignored.
base cards anyone?, paraells? inserts? what is wrong with those?

I'd be happy just finishing off a few sets I'm trying to do, however I'm down to just needing a few rookies and of course they are /99 which means either I give up big $$$ or lots of cards, which no one ever seems to want to do a multicard for one card deal unless it ends up in their favour.

It's been like that forever. People have cards you want, you inquire about them, they ask for Crosby/Ovie/Gretzky etc.
So many problems with this. One, these people USUALLY just want these players for profit and not because they actually collect them (if anyone replies saying that they actually do collect them because they like them, I will block you. I said usually and not all). Second, no I'm not going to trade an Ovie jersey card for cards of Brian Boyle unless it's a really rare card I really really want. Third, these types of people ruin the hobby. I remember when I started everyone would really just trade for players they really liked. Now it seems that people just want big name stars so they can sell the cards. Fourth, these people want high end in return for their junk but want to trade junk for your high end. No, I'm not going to trade a high end card for cards you couldn't trade to anyone else.
Now, I understand that some people are quite generous (especially a lot of people who I am close to on here) and they are always looking to help me out because I'd do the same for them. If they have a card they need, they will look at what I have and see what they could use. If I don't have PC cards for them, then I understand them wanting star players in return so they can trade that for their PC players. I get that. I've done that before. Heck, there have been times that people I like want a card of mine for their PC and theres nothing I can use from them and I'll just take whatever they have for it so at least it ends up in the right hands. I've also had it go the other way where I had nothing for people who had Brian Boyle cards I needed back when I collected him and they'd take bait from me so I could chip away at my PC. I see this slowly deteriorating in the hobby and it's sad. People going out of their way to help with other's PC items is part of what makes this hobby great and we need more of it.

there has been a lot of posts about that...i totally understand where you are coming from...personally...im somewhere in between lower end and high end...i'd rather pull a nice basic vanek jersey for my PC in a box like black diamond than a patch that i had to risk $300 for for a box of something...i just like the notion of game used...knowing it was used in a actual game...said player WORE that...not just its value in $$$ but its value to me as a fan
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

I trade pretty everything that is in my inventory.
There might be 15 cards out of 18,000 that I won't trade, but those are either from the 50's and 60's or Yzerman's first 4 Jersey's from 1996-1999.
Everything else is fair game. The longer a person hangs onto a European The Cup Rookie, or any other overpriced product, the less it's value is on the open market.
It is the same way with rookies from the early and mid-90's. All the rage in 98-99, now you can't give them away, and 20 of these guys are going to the Hall.
Euros are going back home after 4 seasons to play in the Swedish Elite or the KHL, other than the Orange Twins, Zetterberg, Malkin, Ovy and Datsyuk.
I still have all those Lafontaine cards you wanted, but you gave up on me too soon. Lol. I trade for everything I don't have.

I know what you mean.
I'm pretty much reduced to getting my super low end Naslunds locally which is no fun.
That being said, I have made several <10$ trades over the past few months so it's not all bad.
