Depends what you're looking for..... I've got a few on my book shelf:
Don Cherry: Hockey Stories (Pts 1 & 2). Light read, it's fun.
Stephan Brunt: Finding Bobby Orr & Gretzky's Tears. Two absolutly great books.
Kevin Lowe: Champions: The making of the Edmonton Oilers (this one is out of print, you'd have to find it used)
If you're looking for a good biography, I'd recomend Rick Riely's biography of Gretzky.... it's from 1990 but realy good.

I've always been fascinated by the 80's Oilers so I'm going to try and find a copy of that.
Also been looking for, in the past, a good biography of Gretzky, so will take your recommendation on that one. Am into reading anything regarding hockey really. I have on my book shelf:
Messier - Jeff Z. Klein (very good, in-depth biography)
A Season of Loss, A Lifetime of Forgiveness - S. Manasso (very touching book about the Thrashers' Synder's death)
Away Games - L. Sullivan (brilliant book about the NHL-ers heading to Europe during the Lockout)
Pelle Lindbergh: Behind The White Mask - B. Meltzer (currently reading)

I picked up my copy (the Kevin Lowe book) on eBay. Got a paper back, that was signed by Lowe on the cover.... for about $8 (with shipping). Amazon usually has a few copies too - the hard cover version always lists pretty high (I was holding out for the hard cover for a long time, then just caved in and bought the soft).
Shouldn't be too hard to find one online - just know that you won't get it at a book store.

Brunt's books are both excellent, just don't be expecting a straightforward bio of either player. Brunt is an excellent writer, and he tends to look beyond the facts for something more. I would second the idea of both as great reads.
This is a topic that I really find interesting, in part because I have a hard time finding good hockey books. It's quite a difference from baseball, about which there are literally at least a hundred books I would heartily recommend to fans. I've seen several outstanding football and basketball titles released in the past few years, too, but hockey just doesn't seem to attract the same kind of attention. Whether it's a great single-volume league history like McCambridge did with the NFL, or a lighthearted but thorough approach like Bill Simmons' basketball book, there just don't seem to be many similar hockey titles.

Can't believe I forgot to suggest what is likely the greatest hockey book of all time too:
Ken Dryden: The Game
