    Hobby Shop Owners

    Hi

I am going to buy my first case of hockey cards this year and was wondering if there are any shop owners on this sight that live around Vancouver Island B.C? or If someone could give me a name of a owner that they can recommened. Would like to stay in Canada only because of shipping and border charges. The most I have bought out of the US is $120.00 worth and paid $18 brokage fee's so I can imagine how much it would be on a $1000 case. Thanks for your help. Mike

If you're anywhere near Nanaimo, there's Wild Bill / Bill Whitten. I don't know if he's a member here though.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

There is only one shop in Nanaimo, as far as I know. He did move around the corner a couple of years ago.

    Sports Card Alley
    5-2220 Bowen Rd, Nanaimo, BC

You used to be able to see it from the street, but he moved around the corner directly across from the Quality Foods in the alley going to the Beban park tennis courts.

Super expensive, like everything else around, but if you bring him a slurpee from 7-11, he'll cut you a good deal.

MVP Sports in Victoria is the only Hobby Shop around.

One of the owners is on here:
    Professor-Chaos

    Great guys there, IMO.

EDIT: If you're around the area near the end of May, there's a huge promotion going on with Between the Pipes cross-canada tour. Every box you buy gets you a 1/1 card (and not just the Emerald mask cards lol), so if you got a case you'd get 20 of 'em, plus whatever you pull.
