Whats up with Reimer
Why would someone bid 188.50
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280665582751&ssPageNam e=STRK:M
When they could have used a BIN for less
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170633335077&ssPageNam e=STRK:M
Shipping is a buck less on the card with the BIN
Or this one

Looks like the person who bid also offered on the other card.
Someone trying to hoard?
Why is Reimer cup cards soaring after the Leaf season is done?
Last 1 to sell sold a little better than 175 + shipping but the 4 before that were all around 140 + shipping.
Maybe the seller who won't ship to Canada will rethink his auction or at least bring the price down on the Reimer cup

JVR is doing the same thing
BIN:

Bids:

Doesn't make any sence to me, but Ebay is a mystic game

I guess some Leafs fans are ready to appoint him the next Felix Potvin.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Like some Montreal fans think Price is Ken Dryden
Don't get me wrong I like both players and am a Leaf fan who collects Reimer. But i am not ready to hang a franchise tag on either. Price would be closer though.
So why are the cards taking off now after the season is done?
Is it because of him playing for Canada in the Worlds? Or maybe because of all the potential for the Leafs as a whole next year?

The only thing that i can think of on the first one is maybe because its numbered 134/199 ? Almost his jersey number? lolol
I think his crazy prices have a lot to do with supply and demand, he doesn't have very many cards but with how well hes performed Leaf fans wanna get there hands on his stuff so it drives the price through the roof.
I'd love to start a little collection but don't wanna spend the money lol. maybe when he gets into a few releases next year his prices will drop way down. This is what my Reimer PC consists of right now.

Only the ones with absolutely unrealistic expectations. There will never be another Ken Dryden. There will never be another Patrick Roy. Those who are looking for him are forever going to be disappointed. Me, and I've said this countless times, I'm just happy to have the first Carey Price.

I don't think it's hoarding. I think people are rolling the dice now in the hopes that he succeeds next year and his cards will be in even more demand. So buy now at $200, sell next season at $400. That's my guess.

I sold that card for $25 when I broke my cup boxes last year. I guess I should've held out
The JVR sold that high cuz it was #1 (but there is a hoarder on those also)

#1 he is playing for Canada and doing awesome, #2 if you haven't had a really good goalie for 5 years, wouldn't you have hope also?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a hoarder. I know a guy that had about 20 Pavelec Cup RCs, around 10-15 Bobby Ryan Cup RCs (before Ryan was hot), and about 60-70 Latendresse Cup RC, all at once. He was a Leafs fan, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if he (or someone else) is trying the hoard Cup RCs of the Leafs next big thing.
