Design doesn't do a whole lot for me, and the "Playoff Beard" variation - we're officially really badly reaching for parallels now. And really, what are you going to do for the Leafs when it comes to that?
I also don't see the point in having 2010-11 "rookies" as an insert in the product. I know that they had to cancel the Update Set, but this just seems foolish to me.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Something is funny about the playoff beard variations, it says 1:25 packs but also says you are going to get 4 per box, with 36 packs in a box I would guess it's suppose to be 1:9
Thoughts ?

If those are the retro cards, then I might have to do that set too.....

Thanks for the update. This is much more info. than what I found on the Beckett website.
I was disappointed that they cancelled the update set and I would like to get OPC Rookies of Zuccarello, McDonagh, and Grachev, so in a way I am glad these cards will be available. However, I guess they won't be considered rookies, so maybe this is a bad idea.

Beard variation... How will they do for:
- Goalies
- The 14 non-playoff teams
- Teens players
- Patrick Kane and Sidney Crosby
Good luck with that Upper Deck!I collect the following:
- Vintage (Stars and RC)
- 2010-11 ITG Decades (Auto, GU, bases)
- Stars from the 1980s (in modern sets)
- Montreal Canadians Legends (bases, inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)
- Montreal Canadiens actual players (inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)

I think I will always have an interest in this product since it reminds me of my collecting days in the 80s. I also like base set collecting.
With that said, I am most interested in one of the new highlights - Team Canada Sigs!

Love the idea of the Playoff Beard variations. Might have to go for that set. I imagine it isn't for every card though

Hopefully Nate Prosser will have a RC in the Rookie Update. That's really the only highlight I'm seeing here.
