Atlanta-to-Winnipeg Discussion Thread
I can't believe this guy (Ken Jiggs MacDonald)!
'Jiggs' mourns Thrashers
I've read on other sites that this guy is a die hard Southern Hockey supporter. Well he can kiss my Northern Butt

i read until he said winnipeg already had their chance.,
its hilarious because atlanta is on theirr second chance and failed their second chance, so the rest means nothing because he knows nothing..
also had a look at your business, it looks cool.

Thanks. Kinda cool story. My son's atom team won the Atom A Provincials this past season. First time in over 50 years a Brandon team has ever won that division. I made him a Custom Sports figure and showed the rest of the team. Next thing I knew I was in business. I had an entire team's order in 3 and half minutes. Boom, I'm now in business. Good timing too. I retire from the Military (2PPCLI) in July. Life is Great!

Jets Announcement "Imminent"
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stor...-winnipeg.html
Hockey fans anxious for word that the NHL is returning to Winnipeg could soon get good news.
CBC News has been told by True North Sports and Entertainment to have technical people ready to set up possibly late Monday for something early Tuesday.
. . .
The buzz on the Twitter universe Monday reflected the speculation that a formal announcement was near, with some pinpointing the time as 10 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
As well, two of Canada's largest sports networks — TSN and Sportsnet — reported the deal is as good as done.
"The Atlanta Thrashers to Winnipeg situation has narrowed to a point where it's quite possible there could be an announcement as early as Tuesday," stated TSN.
"Lawyers on the Winnipeg side have signed off on the deal and the Atlanta legal team is doing their due diligence today. If they sign off on the deal, the sale will go through, pending league approval.

I don't follow hockey as much as other sports, so sorry if this has already been answered...
Will they be called the Jets again? Obviously Winnipeg Thrashers sounds silly, but I didn't know if they were looking at a new team name or for sure bringing back the old one.

it will not be the winnipeg jets.
it has been confirmed it will be the Manitoba _________
they want more sponsorship oputunities, and not just the city name.
it may be the jets but thats up to phoenix
most likely not the jets though

Makes sense...potential bigger fan base as well when you include an entire province as the name opposed to just one city.

well basically 99% of manitoba is in winnipeg
brandon would be the only town of decent size.
it is mainly for sponsorship options, but personally i dont support it.
winnipeg blue bombers do just fine.

Phoenix has absolutely zero say in us being able to use the Jets name. The NHL owns the rights to the name, and is free to do whatever it wants with it.
