Anything over $35 I require tracking. Unfortunately there are a lot of dishonest buyers and $35 is the limit to what I want risk on a given card. Usually I'll split the registration with the buyer which makes it about $6, if that scares buyers off....those are the breaks. I got burned once on an 06-07 BAP Portrait Ovechkin Auto for $76 and never again.

I look at peoples feedback to be honest. I dont do the anything over x amount because I noticed my auctions took a really big hit, so now I just look at feedback and if I do feel something might happen I ship it with a tracking number. If the card sells for quite a bit I have no problem taking the shipping costs out of what I made for the card.

At least you are willing to split the cost which brings the tracking fees into a reasonable range.
For US Shippers: Would you guys consider Delivery Confirmation from the USPS to provide the same peace of mind as the $15 tracking? The reason I ask is that first class delivery confirmation costs less than a dollar. Or for about $5 you can go certified mail with return receipt which provides proof of delivery and signature of the recipient.Hidden Content

Domestic U.S. is easy, .85 DC and you're good to go. It's just unfortunate it's so expensive internationally to track.

sorry this happened to you and thanks for getting the word out
maybe make a video and post it on youtube, ebay responds better to those, show any photos of the card you had, the more you show the better for you
show the buyers id and the sellers id, give the name and address he gave you as well, you may even find other people he scammed this way too, it couldn't hurt

BETTSY:
For the Ebay user who sold your card, keep track of his feedback. At some point, hopefully, the buyer will leave feedback for his purchase. Once that's done, contact the buyer and ask what the serial # is on that card. If it matches, then you may have solid grounds to get yourself the money you are owed.
For Panini cards, I now make it a duty to scan front AND back when I sell so that I also get the serial # in case I get screwed.

Thanks for all of the replies. I don't know if this person is a member here or if the message I left on his auction page on ebay worked, but the claim was dropped today and I know it was not because of paypal doing anything.
