wooooooo!! iv been AFK for awhile, watching the entire draft. Overall i'm pretty happy with what the cavs got. obviously i wish we could have had SOME type of trades... whether it be for the 2nd pick, later lottery picks, or somewhere to land marshon brooks. still, i like thompson ALOT. i have no IDEA what they will do with thompson/JJ. i just REALLY hope they can keep JJ and thompson. i wish we would have taken scottie hopson at 54 tho. overall im excited to see them both play ASAP!

I feel like the cavs improved in the draft but could have done way better. i am curious what will happen with JJ. even though we have thompson, i still hope he stays. I thought he played well as a 5. he put his best numbers up well and did fairly well against most opponents (....lets forget about blatche). I watched a post-draft conference with grant/scott and they said they can stretch both JJ and thompson to the 5 like last year. I wouldn't mind that. Thompson is a good enough rebounder, and JJ proved himself last year I feel. I would think the cavs would be better with Vesely, but they "took the best available" (who they thought was best available). i think they could have EASILY filled the SG hole with the 32nd pick, but went with a stretch 4, just to trade for 2 picks that will probably be europeans that will never come to the NBA (just like our 54th pick -- yes another PF). lets just hope they can grab someone in free agency to help at SG or C. Sounds like they like their position at SF right now... KEEP JJ. PLEEEASSSEEE

also still happy with thompson because he was my favorite player in these years draft going into it... i saw him play some regular season games at texas and really like him (had no idea he'd even make it to the NBA, let alone the cavs)

Cavs need to address the SF position. Alonzo Gee isn't gonna cut it.
Going into the draft, there were three positions we really needed to focus on. SG/SF/C. And we didn't draft a single one from any of those three positions.
I'm not gonna complain about drafting Irving because it was the smart move. But in the grand scheme of things, PF was the last thing we needed. And we used all 3 other picks on PF's.

i agree. grant keeps hammering the idea of "drafting the best player available". which i guess makes sense to a point, but really, there were players we could have drafted that were close to equal as good as the player we got that also fit our needs. I like thompson and all but i'd rather have gotten vesely. i have no clue what will happen with SF. hopefully we can trade away jamison for a decent SF. that would somewhat clear things up at PF. i think then we could run somewhat of a three man rotation at center/PF with JJ, thompson, and andy. i think that jj and thompson can both be on the team and find their spots without a problem. i hope we can get through the offseason keeping hickson. bottom line is that we need sometype of SF or SG (BOTH). center we can probably manage IMO. if our roster is similar to what it is now, i guess antawn will have to be our 3????

I just think the draft was a BIG failure for the cavs they could of drafted some of our needs but all we ended up with was a bunch of PF guys we DONT need at the least we could of drafted some trade bait LOL....Tristian cant shot the ball he has no post game I dont know how they think hes gonna work with the pick and pop the guy cant even hit free throws. Sure hes athletic but how well will he be able to defend depending on where we play him?
