With sell value tho...how far back do you go?
Some issues will have a lot of recently completed listings to compare with...but what do you do with other issues that rarely appear?
If you are arguing for sell value, then you really can't say oh lets use book value all of a sudden...can you?

I recently just thought of a good example of this so thought I might post it up to see what people thought.
So lets say card A will prolly book for like $150

Now card B Also books for $150

Now if you were trading via Book this would seem like a fair trade and I bet most people would make the trade but is it really a good trade/fair trade??

In a case like that it would largely come down to personal preference. There are a lot of cards that are "equal book value" that many people would never even think of swapping. One example that immediately comes to mind - there are some Jean Beliveau GUs and autos out there that are slotted at "book values" which are "equal" to (depending on the card) Cup RCs of players with 1 NHL game, a common SP Authentic RC, or a semi-star MVP RC. Now, I like some of the younger guys out there, particularly my Kelowna Rockets alumni, but you'd have a very difficult time convincing me to trade a Beliveau Ultimate Collection jersey card for a Matt D'Agostini Be A Player RC even if the D'Agostini "books" five dollars more than the Beliveau.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...
