Whenever I pay with Paypal and there are not enough funds it tells me that they are taking XXX amount from my bank account to cover payment.
If this would have happened to me I would have taken the money out of my paypal and would have made a deposit into my bank account.

Ebay owns paypal that's why everything works out so good for them and not so good for the buyer. I use them both alot and never have any problems knock on wood. LOL

With an eCheck there is a clearing period so it is not really an instant payment like it is by using your balance, credit card, or bank account. I would guess that because of that they funded the full amount from the eCheck. Plus there is a difference in fee. I would guess that if you were the seller and had to pay 2 fees you would ™™™™™™ as well.

When you confirm your payment on ebay it clearly states where the payment is being drawn from. it will either say it's coming from your paypal funds or is being drawn from your bank account. It's in a large box very close to the top of the page. You can not split a payment between your paypal account and your bank account. It's happened to me before when I didn't really pay attention however not to the tune of $600, that'd be brutal! Sorry about your luck, but they did tell you where the funds were coming from.

Why everybody complain about fee on eBay and Paypal. Please Wake up, nothing is free in this world. The bank charge you fee for making profit from our cash, so what do you expect about Paypal ?

I don't complain about ebay as I do not have a account closing on almost 10 years. It might bite but you know what I hate what they do to us and how they treat folks when things go south. So no go for me but I don't complain I just stay away. As for rants like these I always like to say
Actions are backed up by words, I wish more of us backed them up. As you see most still use the evil ebay, so why would anyone think they would change?

That's exactly correct. Because of the clearing period for eChecks you cannot make a combined payment using an eCheck and another method of payment (credit card, account balance, etc.)Hidden Content

the ebay i hate
what happened too me was,
someone bought a card, i shipped it,
he said he never got it.
i didnt use tracking, since it was going to Canada, cost too much.
so he filed a claim.
although the listing stated i am not responsible for lost or stolen items, etc...
i had to pay the guy back.
i was not his last victim.
apparently he knows the rules of ebay & abuses the heck out of to screw
people over.
the card was damaged, i never got it, took too long, not as listed in the listing, etc......
i refuse to EVER use paypal again, and not sure if you can run on ebay without it?
but i learned a lesson the hard way i guess?
UHG!!

Ukiah10, yes, you could send a cheque, but technically under evilBay's rules, you're not allowed to. However, I, and many others that have been screwed by PayPal, will try to pay through just about any other way. Soon, it's going to be "eBay's got you covered! Send your items first, the buyer will have 121 days to inspect it, then, for a low commission of 24%, payment will be sent to you via the convenience of PayPal (clearing times may vary) if the buyer is honest enough to do so"
