There's lots of legit complaints about Upper Deck. Their business ethics? Since when did business ethics stop us from buying products from Walmart, Gasoline from Exxon / Esso, or anything with a "Made in China" tag on it?
Has Upper Deck made some questionable decisions over the years? Yes. Am I making excuses for them? No. Not trying to. It just has so little to do with their Hockey Cards (and specifically the 09-10 stuff) that I don't care.
If the idea of inserts of Winter Olympians.... figure skaters or otherwise..... really bothers you that much: don't buy the boxes. I'll repeat what I said earlier: I HAVE NO INTEREST IN THESE CARDS. What will I do with any I pull? Stick 'em on eBay and see if I can get a couple of bucks back for them. If Upper Deck wants to include them, why should it bother anyone? They're still going to be inserting 50 YGs, GU Jerseys, Patches, Signature Sensations, Victory Update, Hockey Heroes, Printing Plates, Exclusives, High Gloss, and a whole list of other inserts that appeal to me only slightly more than the figure skating cards.

Kev, are you a stockholder or just trying to get in the DC?
I kid, I kid
Seriously, Kevin is right about UD. If you don't like them THAT much, move on, don't bother with their products and collect something else.
They do deserve to be held to a higher standard because they are the sole licensee so I think a certain amount of criticism is fair and justified, but constant bashing will accomplish nothing.
Kev, I do have to disagree with the subjective comment about designs and resale value of ITG.
While I agree with the designs needing to come up a level for ITG (I actually mentioned this to Brian Price on the phone just yesterday!) I would point out that the 08-09 ITG Ultimate 1/1 Jumbo cards might be some of the most highly collectible and sought after cards of the past decade. And the prices back that with many of them smashing sales of most of UD's Cup singles, save for the few dual auto shields with big names.
Just saying............

i'm actually on the same wave length as you with ITG. they're designs are fine in my eyes but not quite up there yet. ITG had to find a certain niche (prospects and more vintage based) to stay in business and their design reflects that. it is purely subjective as i prefer the more modern look of UD but i was just bringing up some of the common criticisms people have with ITG as an example in my previous post.
you know me though, gimme a nice Lundqvist 1/1 and i don't care who makes it.
