Not so much its garbage Dave, as much as the good hits are few and far between, i've seen 1/1 Autos pulled, i myself pulled a Mickey Mantle Topps GU /7 from a $9.99 blaster of 06 topps baseball, those kind of hits are very rare, yes, however they're still out there to be pulled

It's all about personal preference... I buy retail for my nephew all the time. He loves ripping them open... however when I open product, it's usually sealed hobby boxes.

I had good luck with Bowman basketball RETAIL last year. I pulled :
Shaq 1/1 Superfractor
D Rose Draft Day Issue Jersey/AUTO #'d/25
Kevin Love Draft Day Issue Ball/Hat/Jersey/AUTO
Mayo, K Love, Augustin base RC AUTOs
and a bunch of other low #'d refractors.
Didnt seem to have much luck with the Panini stuff this year, and Upper Deck stuff of years past in RETAIL.

Those are great pulls for retail. I like Bowman/Bowman Chrome too, especially how they used different game-used materials on one card last year. Personally I never buy retail unless it is a product I really like and/or hobby is unavailable.
Btw - Very nice-looking T. Evans auto in your avatar

I like retail only for sets I like and not to pull something spectacular. My thinking is that it's targeted for kids who usually could care less what a card is worth or how many hits they get. Back when we were young and innocent
