Ebay problem, what should I do?
A guy is charging a little bit more then 8$ for 3 cards, combined shipping.
Here are is arguments ..
It says right in the auctions that additonal items ship at HALF
the normal shipping price. I don't know what you expect. You
want the rookie cards for 5 cents each. I buy a box of Black
Diamond for $85, open it, and sell rookie cards for FIVE CENTS,
and then you complain about the shipping. You are getting
rookie cards and a Robitaille jersey card. Take the total cost and
divide it by the number of cards you get and see what you are
paying for each card. You bought these cards because they were
FIVE cents. YOu need to read the auctions carefully before you
bid. I am NOT ripping anybody off. I have an impeccable
feedback rating on almost 3000 transactions. People don't buy
from me because they think I am ripping them off on shipping. I
don't believe you could get these cards for this TOTAL price
anywhere else on the internet. If the other auctions only charge
25-50 cents for each additonal card, I assure the opening bid is
around $1 per card or more, not 5 CENTS. I hope this helps you
to understand the situation. I appreciate your business and
thanks again.
What kind of feedback should I leave?

Negative feedback for sure, Ebay clearly states that overcharging for shipping is not allowed b/c they don't have to pay ebay fees for the shipping. Report them to ebay. It cost less than $2.50 to ship three cards in a bubble mailer and toploaders.

If he stated in his ad, that the shipping was what it turned out to be... not much you can do. It would be unfair to leave him neg feedback.
What you can do is leave neutral, and explain what he did...
You can also notify ebay. Around the area where seller location is look for Report this item... then just click the banners
For this Very Reason, I always Take The time to Read the entire ad.....
Good Luck

Forgot to mention... what you paid for the Actually Cards... Has nothing to do with
the shipping. For him to use this as a defense is Lame at best.

The seller clearly stated his shipping policies up front with regards to combined shipping. It is entirely unfair for you to be considering leaving anything other than positive feedback if the cards arrived unharmed and in the condition that they were stated. Yes it seems a little absurd that you'd be paying that much for shipping (indeed at that price I'd almost be expecting to see XpressPost - perhaps you can ask for that as a compromise?), but those policies were clearly stated in the auction and by bidding you accepted those terms.

Read the auction descriptions before you bid. If this is what his auctions state, then you should have been prepared to pay it.
I agree - I think the prices are too high (the sale value of the card should have nothing to do with shipping costs) but he can charge whatever he wants.
IMO - Negative, or even Neutral, feedback would be wrong. If he ships the cards out, and you receive them undamaged - that's a positive transaction. Dinging his ratings though.... and leaving less than a perfect score for shipping charges (when you're adding the stars to the feedback) that might be appropriate.

I agree with the above statements. Leaving negative feedback is not justified in a situation like this as the onus is on the buyer to make sure he/she completely understands the terms of the sale before placing a bid. This is also what eBay has the Detailed Seller Ratings for, I think it is appropriate to leave less than spectacular ratings here.

I have a feeling that anyone who writes along the lines of 'it was in the item description, so pay it" are also the same people who say "I include s/h changes when determining my final bid" for a card. Its not always cut and dry like that.
Let's say you find this in an item description:
If paying by Paypal, I will add 1$ to your total to cover fees
If you win the item, would you pay it? Would you leave positive FB after paying it? Its in the description after all. Who cares if it contravenes Paypal and eBay policy. Over charging on s/h is against policy as well.
I guess I'm a minority of "the customer is always right" group. If you're buying something from me, you get my most polite demeanour, my full attention and your total satisfaction. If you're not happy, I make it right. If you still aren't happy I want to hear about it. If after everything, you really aren't happy, well go ahead and leave your negative FB because I've got 99 other customers who really like my service and were totally happy with what I provided. Don't expect to ever deal with me again if you're being unreasonable, but $$ talks and the money you gave to me allows you to your comment on my total service, good or bad.
As an eBay buyer, I want you to leave negative FB. That way, when I find other items sold by that guy, I can look at his feedback and see that he didn't treat you well. If enough people comment then I know its not a problem with the buyers, its a problem with the seller. I'll spend my money where I can get a good deal and good service. One or two neg FB does not ruin your reputation. A series of negative FB does that.
As an eBay seller, I want you to leave negative FB (or neutral). If I treat you well, provide polite and prompt communication, give you a great deal on s/h and you are happy to pay my item price, then I want my positive FB to mean something. Are you really going to give me the same positive that you gave someone who over charged you and sent a condescending message? That cheapens the positive FB from the customers who really felt that I did a good job.
Cheers,
reoddai

It's the buyers responsibility to check the shipping charges. His shipping charges are a little up there price wise but he clearly has indicated his shipping policy so i would say buyers mistake, read before you buy...seller doesn't deserve negative or nutral feedback because you didn't read the policy. I've learned that lesson the hard way myself!
