It's the buyers responsibility to check the shipping charges. His shipping charges are a little up there price wise but he clearly has indicated his shipping policy so i would say buyers mistake, read before you buy...seller doesn't deserve negative or nutral feedback because you didn't read the policy. I've learned that lesson the hard way myself!

No, it's the buyers responsibility to uphold ebays policies. You cannot up your shipping to sell your items at .01. It cuts into ebay's fees. I'd leave negative feedback and report them to ebay just like I said before. You guys get too butt hurt over this stuff. If he doesn't want to communicate with me and be a model ebay seller then why shouldn't I leave him negative feedback? I leave negative to anyone that charges $3.00 and ships in a PWE as well.

I didn't say that the seller was right, I'm saying the buyer should have read before he purchased. If you were to go onto any other site and buy something I'm fairly sure that 98% of people would check to see what the S/H charges are going to be before buying, why would e-bay be any different? I pass over cards all the time because the S/H charges are too high....

As for the PWE I don't know why everyone is so obsessed with bubble mailers, I've shipped over 1000 cards in PWE and never got a single complaint about the card arriving damaged..(Keep in mind I ship it with a top loader and a filler)

    Good debating!

    +1

Exactly. It's a risk sellers face if they charge too much. But that's their right as a seller and our right as a buyer (to not bid).

As for eBay policies. Their policies are aimed at their bottom line. Not to protect buyers or sellers. They have said policy on shipping 'cuz they don't want people to sell a $100 item for $1, but charge $99 shipping. In that case, they only make $ off the $1 item. That's a lot different from a guy selling a card for $1 and asking $3 shipping per card.

I have a feeling that anyone who writes along the lines of 'it was in the item description, so pay it" are also the same people who say "I include s/h changes when determining my final bid" for a card. Its not always cut and dry like that.

Let's say you find this in an item description:
If paying by Paypal, I will add 1$ to your total to cover fees
If you win the item, would you pay it? Would you leave positive FB after paying it? Its in the description after all. Who cares if it contravenes Paypal and eBay policy. Over charging on s/h is against policy as well.

I guess I'm a minority of "the customer is always right" group. If you're buying something from me, you get my most polite demeanour, my full attention and your total satisfaction. If you're not happy, I make it right. If you still aren't happy I want to hear about it. If after everything, you really aren't happy, well go ahead and leave your negative FB because I've got 99 other customers who really like my service and were totally happy with what I provided. Don't expect to ever deal with me again if you're being unreasonable, but $$ talks and the money you gave to me allows you to your comment on my total service, good or bad.

As an eBay buyer, I want you to leave negative FB. That way, when I find other items sold by that guy, I can look at his feedback and see that he didn't treat you well. If enough people comment then I know its not a problem with the buyers, its a problem with the seller. I'll spend my money where I can get a good deal and good service. One or two neg FB does not ruin your reputation. A series of negative FB does that.

As an eBay seller, I want you to leave negative FB (or neutral). If I treat you well, provide polite and prompt communication, give you a great deal on s/h and you are happy to pay my item price, then I want my positive FB to mean something. Are you really going to give me the same positive that you gave someone who over charged you and sent a condescending message? That cheapens the positive FB from the customers who really felt that I did a good job.

    Cheers,
    reoddai

Having worked in retail for many years I can safely say that more often than not the customer is wrong.

Agreed, the day of the customer is always right went out the window along time ago. People took advantage of it. As for this topic, I agree it's on the buyer to check the shipping fees. If you don't like the fees, don't buy. It's not fair that the seller receive anything less then positive if the cards arrive in the condition stated

The seller should get nothing but positive if you get your cards and they are in good condition. I have received several $4.00 shipped cards in PWE And I left positive for them because I got what I paid for and agreed to pay their shipping price, there have been a couple times where I got my card in a penny sleeve in a PWE but it somehow arrived to me safely, still I left positive feedback because my card did in fact arrive to me safely. He may be overcharging on his shipping but I don’t believe ebay has any rules that a seller must use combined shipping at all (correct me if Im wrong) so in that thought any money he is taking off of the shipping price is essentially a better deal than what you could have paid.

For anyone who's interested, Have I got a deal for you.

Each card in my bucket, anywhere, even PC is 1$ + s/h.

Instead of saying that the customer is always right, how about, the customer is always entitled to their opinion? If they're the flaming nut, well, its one negative. But, if its a trend of dissatisfied customers all having problems with the same issue, then let it show up in FB.

There seems to be a lot of onus on the buyer's responsibility and blaming the victim. Can you honestly be telling me that the person in a transaction(buyer) who is supposed to be the least familiar with a seller's business is expected to be fully knowledgeable of everything the seller asks for? To the point of confusing and expensive s/h practices meant to short change eBay? Which, by the way, means eBay then wants to suck more money out of everyone else because their revenues aren't high enough for some reason? Thanks. sounds like someone wants the benefits of eBay, but without paying for it. That's a moocher to me.Deserves a Neg.

I challenge everyone here with a credit card to chime in and see how many of you FULLY understand your credit card terms of agreement. Front to back. An extreme example I grant you, but its pertinent. Many credit card advertisements are purposefully misleading so the people who get suckered in don't know what they're really getting into in some cases. these same sellers mislead for the all mighty dollar.

Still, I would like to have more honest and transparency in sales. Like here on SCF. Which is why I try to do most of my business here. No scams, no "s/h = 4.5 for one card" tricks to inflate my bottom line and pay less fees.

Sadly, I know that its buyer beware. The better business bureau is replete with examples of swindled customers without an avenue for satisfaction. But like I said. they paid the $$, they get a say on treatment. If you aren't happy, I say, leave a negative.

    Cheers,
    reoddai

The buyer agrees to pay an appropriate shipping charge as determined by me in the sum of no less than five thousand for any domestic shipping. An additional charge may apply for international shipping. Handling fees increase with lunar cycle and the amount of words in this disclaimer and any other posts I've made. After payment, please allow for 6-8 years for item to arrive. If, after the delivery period, your item has not yet arrived, please call my customer service hotline at 1-800-3825-968

Everything was stated up front. If the cards were not damaged he should get a positive feedback. If bidding on multible auctions it is the responsibility of the buyer to figure out the total cost and factor it in.

Sure it's the same as my SCF ID. I really don't care. I message the seller prior to any feedback left to try to work something out. If you charge $3 shipping with no notice of how it's coming to me I expect a secured package with proper packaging.
