Do not use the ROML, they bleed and fade badly. The trump balls are ugly and sometimes bleed but are not neerly as bad as the ROML. After a couple years you wont even be able to see the autos on the Roml. good luck

Possible it could have just been your pen?

If not, what other than ROMLB do you suggest?

The balls you are buying are spec balls. They have the same weight and core as a ML ball. The leather is not MLB quality. Nowhere do they claim the leather is MLB grain.

Trump makes them specifically to be signed. They are not ROMLB quality, but for a 1/4 of the price it's cost effective.

In the year 2010 pretty much any blue ink pen in a Walmart, target, Walgreens, ect is the same with a slight difference in color. Unless you use a gel the pen dosent cause it to fade. The "leather" cover absorbs the ink and ruins it, a ROMLB has treated leather that holds up much better.

I have watched some great autos fade off of cheap baseballs in my collection. I should have learned my lesson, but I just bought a dozen Trump baseballs as they shipped to my mome for under $50. The official MLB baseball are usually 15-20 a pop! I have heard the Trump baseball hold ink well and hope that they do!

Yea when I talked to Rawlings they said that the Spec balls are a slight step behind with the leather. So I think I am going to go with Trump just bc seems like the better reccomendation.

Wal-Mart has a dozen Rawlings CROLB for $19.68. They have a true "leather cover with a solid cork/rubber center". They sign pretty darn nice with a blue Bic (non-gel!). I normally put them straight into a baggie when I'm doing IP signings and then into a cube when I get home. Always keep your signed balls out of the sun! I have some sigs over a year old and I have not experienced any fading, smearing, etc. However, as I stated in previous posts, I use my ROMLBs for the big stars...

Stay away from croml baseballs, far away... Or learn the lessons others have learned the hardway!

Take a look at the pics I just posted under the other ROML spec thread, got andre dawsons auto on a croml and the fading is really bad within weeks...

There's a difference between CROLB and croml?
