Actually.. it should be why all the Brodeur hate after all he's done internationally?
In the same situation as Luongo, Brodeur was put in net after Joseph faltered and won the team gold in Salt Lake City. He then led the team to a World Cup Championship 2 years later.
I'm a Canuck fan and loved seeing Luo win Gold for Team Canada.. but I figured it was Brodeur all the way.
That's the thing with round robin. Don't play well, don't play. Great on Luongo, but it doesn't knock Brodeur. I still think he would've won as well if he was left in net.

I think Brodeur is always trying to look dramatic, such as making diving glove saves and all of that. If Brodeur just stayed well positioned, he would stop more shots. Luongo is also like that but only once in a while, when he wants to give his team a boost. In my opinion, everytime Brodeur makes a save, he has to make it look spectacular. I guess that is why everyone likes him? Just my guess and opinion.

To be honest I don't know what he was doing. It was like he forgot he used reflexes to stop pucks, and laid down.
We'll see if this affects his play for the last 20 games....I hope it does

I have to admit that the Olympics made me like a few players that I hated.

I'm just making this up as I go along, but of all the stats/records Brodeur holds...winning games 2-1 has to be one of them. So not sure 'stopping more shots' and Brodeur really belong in the same sentence when talking about how he plays the game. The best of the best get beaten, and beaten badly sometimes...you don't get over 100 shutouts in the NHL if you don't have good positioning and need to stop more shots.
Amen to that, but change Go Habs Go for Go Pens Go for me! I'd love to see the devils stumble...that would almost surely get my Pens the number 2 seed. (Makes what I'm saying about Brodeur even more legit, since I'm not even a fan...)

Luongo did enough to earn the win. He didn't need to be great. He will need to be if Vancouver goes deep in the playoffs.
