If I don't get better results from this next big batch I'm sending out, I'm going to consider pulling out of the TTM game for good.. I've put lots of time and money into this hobby and it seems to be getting worse for me, I know it's all a risk, nothing is guaranteed and you're bound to get screwed once in a while, but this is becoming more than I really want to deal with.

Back away from the side of the bridge, my man. We all hit frustrating runs. After about 12 years away, I came back to the TTM hobby this year after getting the custom creation bug. I sent a ton out in Spring Training to a number of very reliable signers.

I promptly went 6 of my first 25. People were getting returns from people I had sent to both before and after my request. Frustrated me badly. So, tried another tactic, sent to a bunch of Arena Football players. Expected a tremendous response. Sent out 15 requests. Got 5 back. So now I'm batting 11 for 40. Not what I was hoping for...

So, now as the year closes, I'm 70 of 158 for the year. I've stayed right about 40-45% on my returns for the year. I've had great success with the retired guys, especially in baseball... like I said in my thread, I'm loving my Retro Cubs / Sox set... I'm currently 28 / 36 (77%) with only two RTS... maybe 2 more I truly don't expect to see back. My odds have been much better. I've got 24 in the process of getting set to go out after the turn of the New Year, too. What's really cool is a lot of the older guys will return them for my kids, too. My kids have nice little starts to their collections... and they are really excited to get the mail, too. They often run to the mailbox before I get home.

Patience, young grasshopper. Enjoy what ya got... you've got a nice couple sets going... it'll turn for you.

Thanks for the encouraging words everyone, it's nice to know that these crazy spells happen to everyone LOL.

Anyways, I got my card back from Brett Favre today. I tried printing a custom but I'm missing a plug-in and GIMP would hang the print process, and it printed out too small using Windows Print despite being the right size and settings.. So I had to send a base card, I wasn't thrilled about sending a Jets card, but I couldn't find any of my other Favre cards at the time so I went with it, sorta glad I did, he used silver Sharpie and it looks awesome! I've never seen silver pen on a chrome card before.. Very cool. After comparing this and certified ones and other TTM returns from him, they are DEFINITELY NOT auto-pen or stamp, there appears to be a consistent flow in the signature, and the stoppage points appear to be where they should without hesitation at all.. Looks like the real deal.. I haven't been a fan of Favre's since his post-2005 antics with the Packers, Jets, Vikings, and of course the media and his ever changing decisions, but I was a huge fan of his as a kid despite him always having the 9ers' number, and I'm glad to have it for my HOF book.

Looks cooler in person, the scanner doesn't catch the shine of the card too well.

Can't go wrong with Tiny! He was actually my first return when I got back into TTM after about 6 months off. He's the one who started my obsession!
