Nice that he resigned! Your the only other person on these boards that I know of that will be watching Cardinals football. I can't watch them live since I live in Houston so I bought NFL Rewind. I'll be a little behind, but at least I'll get to watch my favorite player!

Nice adds! He should make great use of that playing time against our lousy QBs and rc O-line.. its gonna be a looooooong year for us. Goodluck to Ware.

yeah, well... it could be a fun season. I'm just hoping that if/when Adrian Wilson comes back, Matt still has a roster spot...

even though Matt got cut at the end of the preseason, I am definitely still collecting. this has been a HUGE month, ironically, as I have made some big time additions.

Sorry to hear about Ware. Didn't he play special teams and wasn't he versatile? I thought the cards could use someone like him. Anyways, can't wait to see what you got coming in Oct. I expecting some big things as well.

its my hope they will bring him back if Adrian Wilson goes down again or doesn't heal. the Cowboys were looking at him apparently, too. that would be rough, but at least I could still see him play on Sundays...

So I said in the August update: "I expect September to be a really nice month..." Well, that turned out to be quite the understatement. Read on!
A really cool month for highlights, adding 2 neat pieces that I hope to have scans for as soon as possible!
A great month for milestones!
A MASSIVE month in terms of quantity!
Here comes the SEPTEMBER update!
First... after another massive recount, I have arrived at a new total... 2 cards off from what it was, but at least I was under counting!
The totals:
122 cards added in September 2011!!!
Yes, that's right. One hundred twenty-two cards in a single month! That's just over 4 cards per day for every one of the 30 days in the month of September. Awesome. (3,150 total) I am now 850 cards away from 4,000.
21 different cards added September 2011.
39 RC cards added September 2011.
13 serial numbered cards added September 2011. (1,185 total - updated) More on this below in the MILESTONES section!
9 serial numbered RC card added September 2011. (755 total - updated)
HIGHLIGHTS:
Well... I was able to acquire 122 cards this month!!! Other than that, I was able to pick up two nice pieces, courtesy of a lead on ebay.
Pick up number one was a neat signed 8.5" x 11" of Matt making a tackle as a member of the Arizona Cardinals, in their black alternate jersey.
The second piece I picked up this month immediately became one of my absolute favorites: A signed, inscribed Super Bowl XXXIX (39) program. Matt played, rather extensively in fact, as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Scans to come soon...
MILESTONES:
A ton of small milestones this month, and two pretty big ones!
Made a big purchase on thepit.com. Thepit.com was started by Topps as a kind of "stock market for cards," and it's big kick-off was uncirculated cards given away via redemptions in 2004 Bowman and Bowman Chrome baseball and football. The site has been sold a few times over the years, and its now owned and operated by Sportsbuy.com, with an affiliation to SBnation.com.
Little by little over the years, I have picked up every one I can find. I'd like to share the numbers with you now.
Topps stated that 110 of the 2004 Bowman Uncirculated Gold sets were made. I now own 102 of the 110. That's 92.7% of the entire print run!
Topps also stated that 210 of the 2004 Bowman Chrome Uncirculated White Refractors were made. I own 174 of them, or 82.9%.
I don't count either of these in my serial numbered cards tally, as they aren't technically serial numbered, only "stated" to have made so many sets.
A few cards reached significant numbers this month:
#300! - 2004 Upper Deck RC #236
#50 - 2004 Bowman First Edition #184
#50 - 2004 Topps Total Silver #424
#25 - 2004 Upper Deck Finite HG RC #217 (that's 25 of 275, just 9.1%.)
Now the two significant milestones!
First, I am now at 1185 serial numbered cards, which means I have now surpassed the 11% mark in ALL owned serial numbered cards. (actually 11.11% now!)
Second, according to Beckett's online price guide, my Matt Ware collection is now worth over $18,000!
I really appreciate everyone reading this pretty wordy but awesome September update! Looking forward to another nice month in October! Comments always appreciated!
