Ah well as much as I do want to complete my base sets, I will be more interested in getting all of the autos and relics and what not. That stuff looks way more interesting to me. I basically want all the cards in main event, and probably round 2. And I will have to think about round 3. I wonder what's next in the UFC topps series.

Ahh, well if you're wanting to build the auto sets and relic sets, I don't know that buying boxes would be the best bet... With Main Event you're guaranteed 2 autos and 3 relics per box but you run the risk of dupes. I know Round 2 is bad for that... Hope you like Marcus Davis because if you buy 5 boxes you'll probably wind up with at least 3 of his autos LoL

Haha, well I will most likely only purchase 1-2 boxes and then go for single cards. I will sell and trade all dupes. Hopefully at least.

Question, are all cards numbered? Or are only autos/relics numbered? I know there /1,/8/50/88/200 I think.

Thanks again for all of your help thus far.

i flipped a coin to decide which to buy last night and walked out with my 6th box of main event. my fear of round 2 is that you get 2 autos per box and there's a chance that both can be "bad" whereas from experience, if you get one "bad" auto in main event, the other auto will more than likely make up for it.

one day i will try round 2 but for now, i think i'll stick to main event given the choice

No not all cards are numbered and the auto/relics aren't numbered either oddly enough. However, there are parallels of every card #'ed like you said: /1,/8,/88,/188 etc.

I had great luck with Auto's for Round 2, was only able to ever find 1 box of Round 1 when it came out (got it for $109 and wish the store had more but I got the only box they were allocated), and I have done a bunch of Main Event. Main Event hits much better than Round 2 in my opinion and it is easier to complete a base set. Good Luck!

It seems as if base sets are more important to people than autos and relics.

So all cards have parallels? Or just all out of the base set, and the autos are not numbered, and there are no parallels. Crazy stuff.

So what determines what a card is worth? Popularity of fighter? Numbered? Color?

Thanks for the input guys. You are making me more knowledgeable by the post.

Looks like I'll be sticking with Round2/Main Events until the new product comes out, unless I can find a well-priced round 1 box. But I am doubting that option every day :/ I also see main event boxes increasing in prices on retails by day also. I'm glad I got mine when I did. I even nabbed an extra Hobby Pack with it, just so I might have some trading with my first box lol. Most likely, unless a box can have doubles, I won't have many traders from it.

I had pre-ordered mine from my local hobby shop. Luckily I have 3 shops that I am pretty close with and was able to get mine for $139 each, which seems fair. I have a Target 5 minutes from my house and have bought some retail blasters for the Octagon Chips. I just got back from there earlier and had a sick double rack pack that had 2 relics in one pack! Anderson Silva fight mat and unfortunately a really banged up Bronze Mat #01/88 of Alan Belcher. Going to send it to Topps and see what they will do.

I found good online prices for them from good stores. I didn't know target carried ufc topps.
