What a great game so far! And in a great situation so Chapman can get some work in a 5 run game.

He looked awesome with that unofficial 103 mph fastball.

What a great run since getting swept by the Cardinals and on top of the run they go into a tail spin. Heading to St Louis for the game friday with a few cardinals fans. Should be fun. Hopefully the Reds can add to their lead. I'd also like to see chapman pitch again.
With all of the starters that the Reds have I wonder if they're looking at him for a closer. He would be dominant in that roll pitching in the 100s. Plus I'd worry he'd have arm issues pitching 6-7 innings like he does.

So we have a 7 game lead over the Cards right now. That's just simply amazing!! It's no suprise to me that we are in first place but it is a suprise that the cards are playing so badly down the stretch.
Chapman did look great last night. Next year don't expect to see him in the closer role however. The Reds picked him up to be a starter but sending him up as a relief pitcher gives him some big league experience.

Go Reds!!!

Nope, the owner said he will be a starter no doubt.

Chapman should be the closer, he wasnt that good in the minors as a starter, and he'd be more effective throwing over 100MPH for an inning or two, with that said, his slider is just ridiculous, batters are swinging at a pitch that ends up behind them

When he was in the minor they had him working on alot of his pitches like that nasty slider. That's why he wasn't very consistent in Triple A. 104mph tonight, wow!!
