    Question about Duchene BAP patch

I just came across this Duchene Be A Player Rookie Patch and was just wondering where this particular patch comes from. It appears to be the letters “AV” most likely spelling out Avalanche but I can’t think of any Av’s jersey that would have this on it.

They are sewn onto rookie photoshoot jerseys, if I'm not mistaken. It just lets them have more patches to cut up into cards.

Yup, I am pretty sure the nameplate above the letter says "ROOKIE" and there is another nameplate below the number which has the team name.

I have seen the jerseys Upper Deck uses. They are team specific, for example the back nameplate on a Kings Jersey will spell "LOS ANGELES"

So across the back of this jersey where "DUCHENE" would normally appear on the nameplate, this one says "AVALANCHE". What you see on the swatch is the part of the "AV" from that nameplate.

These kind of cards are worthless in my mind.

The only one's with photo shoot swatches that hold any value to me from a players rookie year (along with some of the nicer Cup pieces or shield cards) are the true rookie cards. There is NOTHING you can do to change the fact that is a players rookie card, you have no option, it is take it or leave it.

Do you remember if there is a "ROOKIE" nameplate on the jerseys as well? The Karlsson that is on ebay right now looks like the piece is from "OO"

    I believe so.

They typically do one or two of each of the rookies and sometimes up to 5-7 for high profile guys (Stamkos wore 7 photos shoot jerseys I believe) so they have patches/shields for all the high end products. (Cup, OPCP, Ultimate, etc)
