Beckett!!!!
I just got my new June/July 2010 hockey Beckett in the mail today. I remember back in the day (I'm not that old...so back in the day means in the early 90's) when the Beckett was way thicker and had more articles, maybe its because there are more cards in the world but I would like to see more articles and less advertisements. I'm not really disapointed but would just like to see more hockey-talk. What does everyone else think about Beckett Hockey Monthly???
Thanks for reading,
Brian F.

I haven't bought a magazine in over two years. That's what I think of the magazine.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I miss the articles as well but if your looking for articles you have the net, trading sites, youtube vid's, blogs, etc. that will throw more articles at you than Beckett of Old. Glad to have you on the SCF boards.

I started picking up Beckett again when I got back into the hobby a few years back. It didn't take long for me to realize time has sort of passed the magazine by. I can get articles on the internet, and frankly I find their pricing ludicrous enough to pay next to no attention to it.
It's a shame to see one of the staples of the hobby starting to dry under the sun of a new age...but that's all print media for you.

i just bought a copy of the beckett hockey ( goaltenders issue rite?? ) and i always love to read the articles and the product reviews and such!!! man was i dissapointed!!! i think it took me 5 minutes to go thru the magaizine...i am getting so tired of this..i'll tell you which magazine i missed was the sports collectors digest almost like a newspaper..my lcs won't carry it anymore..even that paper got rediculously huge with ads..i love to read up on th hobby not just the price guides...someone should put out a news stand style magazine just dedicated to hobby news and product previews and reviews and great pulls from people and such.. but sadly we will probably never see that..at least in our collecting lifetime...unless there is a magazine out there i have not heard of,,

I just go for the online price guide. It's way cheaper than buying a subscription monthly and more efficient. Plus the articles are garbage for the most part, and so are the reviews. And the listings are more confusing than ever before! There were a couple of advertisements that helped me though. So I have to give them that.
