i passed up on an 05-06 UD Lundqvist Rookie Threads Auto /10 because .... i don't know what i was thinking. still haven't seen a 2nd copy to this day and it is now my white whale. (i've captured the rest of its pod though). =)

Great thread idea, for me it is my darn 2000-2001 Epic Signatures set. For one reason or another I often miss out on these (could be because I have 2 kids, a third on the way and not much time for ebay), 2 of them in the past week.

Orr, I completely forgot about and fell asleep watching TV.

I get nailed on a lot of lower end ones as well and I almost always set my max bid higher then high BV.

I found 2 Girouxs, an 08/09 Ice Fresh Threads Patch Black Parallel /10 and 09/10 UD HG, that I still need AFTER THE AUCTION WAS OVER.
I have no idea how I missed them!

I had been watching a 09/10 UD HG before as well and realized it was over when I went to put in my bid (so I missed that same card twice).

Artifacts Bronze /10 for $20 - i thought it was too high at first but later realized my stupidy
OPC Premier JSY/Patch AU Silver Spectrum /35 for $10 - ....no comment lol
The Cup Platinum /25 for $10 - again, haven't seen another

and most recently a 09-10 bap players club auto /10 for $15 that i probably wont see anytime soon lol....but i've also gotten some incredible deals so i cant really complain.

I missed out on two 2002-03 BAP Memorabilia Alex Semin Draft Redemptions. On the first, I went out to eat and got back 5 seconds too late to place a bid. On the second, my computer lost the wireless internet signal in the final seconds as I was entering a bid. Oh well, at least it wasn't a real MUST have card.

2006-07 Ultiamte Signatures Scott Stevens and Saku koivu I have seen 1 stevens and 2 koivus and each time i meant to bid at the last minute and fell asleep or had to go out and forgot

I was watching a Benoit Pouliot RC Dual Shield 1/1 that was at 0,99$. Completely forgot about it and it DIDN'T SELL !!! Could have had that amazing card for 1$ !!! Try to beat that !! lol

The first one I never expected to be outbid on. That was back at the beginnings on my collecting the set, before I knew about "the other guy".

I lost the second to "the other guy" also, but this time because I just wasn't prepared to go any higher.

By the way "the other guy" is a collector named Peter in Quebec. Great guy, he's doing the set also, but with far deeper pockets. Even had a few doubles I was able to get off him for my sets.

For anyone with an iPhone (and probably the other app phones) the ebay app is a life saver. It pings you, like a text message, when something you're bidding on/watching is ending. It's helped me a few times...

On the other hand it has woken me up once at 3am, I try to watch the ending times more closely now.

I missed a few nice O'Reilly 1/1's on Ebay when I was on "collecting hiatus", the Masterpieces Black 1/1 and the 06-07 Artifacts Auto 1/1 for prices I would likely have paid double now. Also, the Topps Archives RC Reprint Auto. When I first bought it I paid 13.00, sold it for 30. The last two copies on ebay went for 89 and 109! Unreal!
