It happens all the time, its big risk big reward, now lets say Topps messes up correlation and you get a Ryan Howard 1/1 Auto and a Pujols Auto from the box, would you send one of them back because you got more in value than you should have? it works both ways, i understand your upset you did bad, but Topps doesn't owe you anything, no card company will compensate you because you had a bad box, if they did, A) cards wouldnt be worth what they are and B) they'd probably be out of business

good point. i have had both ends with TTT. I bought a box of FB and got a steve smith RC Auto and a Freeney/Mcnabb/Harrison triple gu. Then I bought a box of TTT baseball and got a Soto 1/1 white whale printing plate auto in one pack (thought i was done after that) and the other pack had a Kevin Youkilis All-Star Jumbo Patch 1/1 in it.....does go both ways but it is very frustrated to get skunked on a high end product

my advice would be to look at the checklist before you buy a product and avoid everything that has Albaladejo in it. It's like getting mad when you don't win buying $200 worth of scratch off tickets, it's the chance you take. Missing some hits, it's on the company. But what happened to you happens to all of us.

Only thing I have to say about these card company's is IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HONOR A REDEMPTION THEN DON'T PUT THEM IN THE PRODUCT. Nothing erks me more the a expired redemption. Expecially on a high end product.

i agree on this point. Its not our fault you werent able to get the card in time, so why should we have to stop busting our favorite products due to fear of pulling an expired redemption I know ill get nothing for?

I agree with the fact that sometimes it is good and sometimes it is bad (more often with my luck it is very very bad) but I also agree that high end products have no business having prospects in them, unless they are an extra hit. This is why I have felt Topps has fallen short in creating high end product to buy and collect.

Take UD Premier it has a nice mix base card 2 or 3 autos 2 or 3 game used per box for $200. I know the box can suck, but that is where the risk vs reward comes in.

Topps on the other hand their high end products (recent) have only had 1 or 2 hits in them. Sterling until last year was player specific and you got 1 hit, except if you hit a big mystery pack card (i know the pain of $200 for a box and getting a Ryne Sandberg G/U auto that only sells for $40 before fees and i also know how it feels to get the Mantle box and hit a triple jersey all 3 with pinstripes numbered 1/1)

I guess what my main point is, if you spend $200 you may get screwed and you may hit the jackpot or somehwere in between. Topps needs to re-think their entire production process now that they have the exclusive license. They need a high end product not watered down with prospects and rookies (not even strasburg) only current and former stars and superstars. They need nice middle of the road products with a mix of everything rookies, stars and superstars (current and former), but they cant water that down with the big names (we all know someone who hit a ruth or two out of topps tribute last year) and they have to get away from the event used items (benchs and walls). Then finally what I dont think they need to do anything about and is probably their most balanced product (just my opinion) the base Topps each year. Always a nice mix of players from all levels nice autos and inserts and the potential for huge hits for a reasonable price. Plus they do all the bonus stuff (pie in face cards, variation cards and red hot rookie redemptions) to give some creedance back to the base card market.

Just my .02, sorry your box sucked, I know the feeling all too well. Best of luck with future boxes.

Dude, when you buy a box of anything their is a chance you might do good and might do alright and might to extremely bad. That is the chance you take, I've opened so many boxes that I paid top dollar for that I could barely get $5-20 off the stuff I got. Topps has to make scrubs in their product if not then they would go out of business and if their were no scrubs then the product you were buying would be double or triple the price because of the value it cost Topps to get the high paid player to sign all those cards for them. I get so upset when I dont pull anything good but I dont get upset at the card company that is the chance I took. In my opinion Topps and Bowman are way better then some stuff that UD comes out with.
