How do you know if your box has been searched?

I was browsing through eBay today and I was amazed to see how many listing for "guarentee auto/GU/patch" unopen packs. If they are true, how can anyone know if the box they bought has not been searched? It seems like it would be fairly easy for any dealer to open up the boxes and search through the packs before resealing them again. Does anyone else see this as a problem? Is any manufacture doing anything about this?

buy Factory sealed wrapped boxes? Or have they figured how to get around that one aswell?

I'd just never buy any packs online that DONT guarentee a Jersey/Auto, How likley is it that they search the packs and then offer the other packs on ebay?

re-wrapping boxes, in theory, would not be that hard unless the manufacturer placed some sort of seal that would have to be broken in order for the box to be opened. However, I dont think any dealers are doing that just because it is too easy to get caught. If a dealer is selling boxes that have zero hot packs and is also selling single hot packs from the same set, well it is pretty easy to figure out whats going on there. However, I would not put it past some shady guy to buy some shrink wrap and a heat gun and try to scam people.

Dont most boxes come in a printed seal plastic with the print of the brand all over it?

I guess they could always re-wrap it with the same wrapping... seems like alot of trouble unless your a very low individual...

My theory is this, only buy boxes/packs that garuntee a jersey or auto in every pack i.e Bowman signature lol

Maybe beware of sellers that sell alot of singles and some boxes? Or give sellers benefit of the doubt.

The reason I brought this up was because of the 2004 Legendary Cuts box. It's suppose to come with 1 AUTO per case. But if the dealer was able to find the pack, he then can sell the rest of the boxes in the case knowing they won't have that speical auto. As for sealing, it's very easy to do.

A soloution to all of this is don't buy pack/boxes on ebay. Many sites have the same boxes for the same or slightly higher price. I would gladly pay $10 - $15 more to ensure the box is legit.

I read the other day that someone complained about a box not having the right amount of garunteed cards to the card markers, try doing that maybe?
