Panini Changing it up - Certified Comes First
Back when it was announced that Panini had secured an NHL/PA license for cards starting in 2010-11, it was stated that Score would be the first release.
I just got a message on their Facebook page (sound familiar?) that they're "changing it up" and going with Certified as their first product release.
For comparison's sake, here is the 2010 Certified Basketball release page on their website:

That'd be a nice product with hockey on it. Hopefully the product will look nice and the word CERTIFIED will apply to in pack autos and a similar price point.

Sounds interesting, but it looks like a lot of parallel cards... I would wait and see before to judge the real product; the overall design sounds nice.

Does look like a lot of parallels.
Hard to judge until I actually see hockey applied to it

i opened a lot of Certified football. It had some great jersey and patch cards. On sticker autos from some legends (though I didnt hit any) and a nice rookie card with dual fabrics and autos.
Pack configuration was 8 cards per pack, 1 "hit" per pack, 10 packs in a hobby box. One auto per box and 2 jerseys, on average. No guarantee of anything and I had some boxes that fell below the QC level in my opinion.
I dont really know how they are going to do rookies from last year, given they werent at the Rookie Premiere and don't have event used jerseys, so lets cross our fingers that they will have GU pieces.

The question is this will panani flood the market with auto's that are not an ud exclusive like they did in other sports. I absolutely shudder for player collectors whose auto's could potentially devalued by half if panini does this again.
As for this product personally i don't find it attractive at all if it looks like the b-ball issue.

it looks like UD Ovation ... but with jerseys, patches, autos, and numbering.

Excited for Panini, I believe this will make UD better. This product sounds great, and looks nice.

Love the looks of the basketball, so I would be interested to see what the hockey release looks like.
