NHL Awards
looking great so far, but does things look a bit off, like unrehearsed??? I mean im totally cool with, more genuine feel i think. That first host guy was making those jokes i was like, whoa dude, ovy or duncan Keith is gonna jump up there and bust your arse for ya....lol
what you guys think? myers got ROY. I was happy for Martin St. Louis.
and Theodor.

Myers getting the Calder and Miller getting the Vezina, and the person out of the 3 most deserving to win the Hart won it. Glad the NHL got something right

Drew Doughty got screwed again. Not even nominated for the Calder last year and no Norris this year. Not to take anything away from Duncan Keith, because he's a great player, but there isn't a d-man in the league that I would rather have than Doughty and I'm not alone. Burnside was recently asked if he could start a team how would he draft...

#2 - ovechkin
#3 - doughty
i'm sad for Drew but happy for the Kings. probably would have been a bonus involved if he won and hopefully they can sign him for a little less since he didn't win. maybe a double cap space savings.
NHL awards are usually a joke and they went one step further this year but failing on the HOF selections as well.

btw, just found out Doughty finished third in the voting. THIRD! do these people even watch hockey? they clearly don't watch the Kings.

yep its the East Coast bias, same as when Nabokov failed to win the Vezina

it's ridiculous. i can see Keith winning the Norris. he was the best d-man on the best team and he had a great year. i don't agree that he had a better year than doughty but at least i can understand it. but to vote for Green ahead of Doughty? who would do that? only folks that look at stats and that is it.
i hope this only fuels Doughty's fire. Lombardi says he was only in so-so shape last year. imagine what he'll do if he gets in shape. can't wait to see it. october can't come soon enough.

I just finished watching the awards. I agree. Doughty had a great year, and even though I dislike him as a player...I do feel sorry for him. He definitely deserved to come in at least 2nd place.
Marty st.Louis made a cute quote about his kids lol. His kids are sooo cute :)
I wonder if Ovie even knew in the beginning if his speech time was up, because he just kept on talking even after the music and all of that was being played.
Loved Duncan Keiths quote about Ovie to keep his hands off his wife lol.
The awards this year were definitely better than last Years
