Oops, my bad on Kindl. He was just a late rookie this year and I had forgot about him.

Three players above all others will get major hobby love this year as rookies:

Taylor Hall - Obvious choice here. First overall pick, playing for Edmonton. He'll have a strong following.

PK Subban - Plays in Montreal, talented, charismatic, he's going to have a lot of people hunting down his cardboard. He's going to be the most popular Habs rookie since Price IMO.

Nazem Kadri - Plays in Toronto. First round pick, and looks to be a talented player. Much like Montreal; if you play there...you'll get hobby love.

I expect the others will fall a notch below. Even Seguin probably won't earn as much love as these three. Although he'll be very close.

Seguin should be in the OHL again next year. I totally agree that he's not NHL ready.

The 2010-11 Rookie Class my very well end up being my favorite of all time.

As an Oilers fan, I'm expecting both Taylor Hall & Jordan Eberle to make the club.... and (I'm sure) are going to make big dents in my wallet next year. Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson also has a decent shot of making the club, and maybe even Linus Omark?

There's a bunch of RC eligable hold overs from the Oilers: Charles Linglet, Alex Plante, Dean Arsene, Johan Motin, and Bryan Pitton. Arsene played 13 games, so I'd think he's got a good shot at a RC.... Plante played 4 and is a former 1st round pick, so I'm expecting one of him too. Linglet(5), Motin(1), and Pitton (Back-Up goalie) likely didn't play enough to get one, and don't have much pedigree, so I'm guessing they don't.... but you never know?

And speaking of holdovers, I'm really hoping that Trevor Gillies, NYI, makes it into (at least) the early season sets. Friend of mine from High School.... he's had several minor league cards, and a couple of H&P releases.... but after 14 games with the Islanders last year, I've got my fingers crossed he gets a real RC.

There's a very good chance it gets close to being as good as 05-06. Obviously Hall is not going to be as big as Crosby.... but how are Eberle, Seguin, Subban, Kadri, Larsson, Markstrom, Hodgson, and Schenn stack up against the rest of the 05-06 class (Those are the next 8 I see as being the big ones)

It's still a ways away.... but I'm considering doing a case this year.

And let's not forget Jack Campbell, who could end up being the next big thing to come out of the U.S. He was absolutely sensational this past season. I could see a Mason-like hobby surge if he makes the Stars.

Next year looks to be a HUGE rookie year for hockey cards. Let me just list a few that could see a lot of hobby love:

Taylor Hall--plays for a Canadian team in Edmonton. should be able to put up decent points as a rookie

Tyler Seguin--plays for a big market in Boston. should be able to put up decent points as a rookie.

any other first rounder who cracks the NHL--they will all be massively hyped and all have a lot of potential.

Cody Hodgson--Once again on a Canadian team who could be a second line center next year.

Brayden Schenn--If he makes it his blood lines will make him have a few fans to start off.

Jacob Markstrom--Best goalie prospect who is turning pro. Goalies always get hobby love plus the Panthers have some great patches.

Nazem Kadri--Playing for the Leafs automatically makes him a great pull.

Jordan Eberle--Playing for a Canadian team. Everyone from Canada knows how clutch that he is. Already has a following.

PK Subban--All Habs fans love him and with his attitude and sense of humor he will be loved league wide.

Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson--Another Oil rookie who has speed and skills to put up good points as a rookie.

Eric Tangradi--He may not be the most skilled but he is a big boy who is a winger on the Pens. If he finds a spot playing alongside Crosby or Malkin he will be loved.

Jakub Kindl--Wings rookies always get love and he has had three full years in the AHL. He will step in next year and play a decent role on his team.

Jordan Schroeder--Small skilled player on the Canucks may take a bit to be a great player but he has a ton of potential.

Kyle Beach--The Hawks will have to use rookies to save on cap space and he is big and talented and mean.

Nice list, though Kindl did have RC's this year as previously stated by v3rs3s I believe, I wouldn't even rank Kindl as the Wings top prospect though. My guess is if we see any Wings RC's this year it'll be Tomas Tatar(I hope so, this kid is going to be SICK!) and possibly Thomas McCollum.

You're probably right. But I would definitely look at him making an impact in 2011-12.
