Just a quick question???
Hello everyone, I have a question about card prices. If you have a card that has a jersey/patch/swatch on it....does the amount of colors on the jersey/patch/swatch efffect the price of the card??? So pretty much, could you have a regular jersey card, (like a malkin upper deck game used with two or three colors), and have a greater value than the bv states; lets say $40 in the BECKETT??? One more quick question...what is the difference between a jersey or patch or swatch??? Thanks for the expert adivce from everyone that responds.

It can, depending on the player and the set. If you've got a multi-coloured jersey card of a star or it's a set where multi-coloured jerseys are scarce, you'll be able to get a pretty decent little premium. Some sets also have numbered jersey cards - if the jersey number (i.e. Malkin 71/250) is on the card, that will also fetch a little extra from player collectors. If it's Bill Guerin and his Black Diamond quad GU has 2 different colours in the window, probably not so much.
A swatch is simply a piece of fabric, and can refer to either a jersey piece or a patch piece.
A jersey is just a regular part of the fabric. A patch is from the logo, numbers, or shoulder patches.
Here's a couple pics to illustrate:
This is a Josh Gorges Uniformity jersey:

Not too exciting.

Richard nailed it on the head, though it does seem moreso with patch cards than jersey cards that a premium is carried for more than 1 color. A standard white patch card will go for a fraction of the price a card with a 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. color patch card goes for.

Most of the time multi color jerseys wont acquire as much as multi color patches
Here's a boring plain white patch, got it at a steal price

Here's a a multi-color patch that required a bit of a premium that you might like:

Just to further the point about the patches...
I have a Price Artifacts Jersey/Patch /35 with a plain white patch. I got it for $15. Another copy of the same card, with a full Canadiens logo from the Centennial shoulder patch went for $180.

In In the Game you can also find these cards:

^ Regular jersey

^ Jersey with a fat seam

^ Number card, part of the nameplate OR number of the player

^ Emblem card, same thing as a patch in UD cards.
Swatch = the piece of memoriabilla, can be a stick a jersey a patch an emblem.

yeah i had a duchene silver patch that looked exactly like your gold version ITG...it was white with the middle to lower part being duchene's number from his jersey or something like that. those are some super patches and i think that i want to start collecting some kind of patch set that involves paul stastny in that set, but get different cuts of jerseys/patches of stastny. Again...really enjoy looking at everyones patch cards, thanks for the inspiration.
