Hello everyone, I have a question about card prices. If you have a card that has a jersey/patch/swatch on it....does the amount of colors on the jersey/patch/swatch efffect the price of the card??? So pretty much, could you have a regular jersey card, (like a malkin upper deck game used with two or three colors), and have a greater value than the bv states; lets say $40 in the BECKETT??? One more quick question...what is the difference between a jersey or patch or swatch??? Thanks for the expert adivce from everyone that responds.

On forums such as SCF, people will put a price premium on multi-coloured jerseys and patch cards, and they will de-value single-coloured cards more often than not. If you go to your favourite LCS though, if the card books at 100, then the selling price will be 100 regardless of the colour or multi-colours. Of course, if you're a regular customer, then you can probably haggle and bring the price down a little. I do believe the same mentality goes for card shows.

Personally, I do my best to avoid the multi-coloured cards because of the many forgeries that's going on.

wow i didn't even think about forgeries, who would do such a thing but thanks for the advice about that ozzie. that makes sense, if a trader is going to charge more (bv wise) for a multi-colored patch/jersey than they should consider a one-colored card to be less valuable (bv wise). i'll take that into consideration, if i ever want to trader for a multi-colored patch/jersey.
