I wonder if the cards are hard-signed? I know they are typically stickers with this brand in other sports but I cannot tell on the mock ups?

I am all for something new so we'll see how this goes. I also applaud that they are coming out with a strong product to start.

It should help offset some of UD's early season junk that need to be banished like Artifacts, Trilogy, etc.

on that howe card.. look at this from facebook...

Upper Deck We've had some questions on this. Our multi-year exclusive spokesman deal with Gordie Howe remains in tact. UD remains the only place you can find signature trading cards of Mr. Hockey.

    Bryan Cope good one....

Steve Emerick what?? wait did you see panini's auto leaf certified being displayed on Becketts website??

Upper Deck Yes Steve, that's why we needed to bring this up as it is causing confusion with collectors.

Bryan Cope Don't the NHL rules say that there are no exclusives.....

Upper Deck There are no exclusives for active players. There are for retired players..

This would be the card referenced: http://blogbeckett.wordpress.com/201...certifiedhowe/

Hum, Jake is in the base set and in the Fabrics of the Game one.

But... There is like 25 parallels of the base set. Does that really mean every player will have 25 parallels only for the base set!?!?!?

Very solid start, I must say. Hopefully Panini can keep strong with all of their releases. I don't buy many boxes anymore, but I might try one of these.

I duno, they look sweet, but that's a lot of parallels for my 'every Giroux card' collection!

"Awaiting The Call Signatures" is a cool idea - even if one of the players in it already got the call.
