Personally, here's what I would do for the group breaks as this is how we used to do it over at TCC as far as slots go. If you do a case of say Certified, have 15 slots, you each pick 2 teams (we could do this in a 2 round snake draft to make it fair) and then whatever you get out of your case for those teams is what you'd get. Everyone would pay the same amount (for an $800 case of Certified this would cost roughly $53/person then just add shipping and supplies and round it off at $58/person or so. This would make it relatively affordable for a lot more people while giving everyone an even shot at getting a good team with at least a couple good hits.
Also, I'd suggest doing maybe say 2 mid-end case breaks, a low end-case, and then 1 high end break. This would allow the low-end guys to be able to get in one, a lot more people to get into a mid-end break, and then still having something high-end for those that can afford something like that. I'd also do the breaks via UStream.tv rather than in live chat, that way everyone can watch the products actually being bust live while still being able to discuss everything in the chat area. Ustream also allows you to record your videos so you could record the breaks so you don't have to go through the hassle of uploading stuff to youtube later.
Thoughts?

I think I'm kinda following you. Only problem with that...what happens if someone gets no hits besides some base? I think we should do the snake draft with overall picks. Like someone gets 1 and 20, someone get 2 and 19, etc.
I don't know. I guess this is really just a thread for ideas. We can't really specifically start something unless the staff gets involved.

To me, I've always liked the gamble of that type of draft though I understand that's not everyone's cup of tea. An example is that the guy who consistently had Chicago (we did monthly group breaks) got all base one month but the next month got a Kane RC, Toews RC and 2 Kane Autos...extremely exciting stuff. Either one would work really, I'm just throwing out a couple different options lol.
One thing I'd pretty adamently like to see though is having at least 2 mid-end breaks. There's clearly already a lot of interest in this so I think having more than one break makes it possible to get more people involved.

I agree with multiple breaks for sure. Any suggestions for other breaks?
Also, how is the custom set coming along?

I would suggest something like 09-10 H&P, 09-10 UD Series 1, or 09-10 SPA depending on case prices. H&P would appeal to a lot of people (including myself) who collect young or up-and-coming stars while still giving some nice legends hits with the heroes GUs/Autos while dishing out 4 hits or more per box on average at a decent price. Series 1 would give us the chance at a bunch of great young guns which are always popular and chances at some decent GUs or a nice patch if we get lucky. 09-10 SPA of course has the chances at the first hard-signed autos of all the big rookies while giving chances at getting autos of other current and past stars and giving shots at a few patches of both rookies and other stars.
To me, I would choose H&P because of the hit totals and quality of the product overall. The Class of 2010 inserts also would give us a shot at getting someone a nice redemption card of a first rounder and all are numbered /10 either way. The swatches 9 times out of 10 are unmatched in comparison to UD and there is definitely a lot of value. We could also send in all our points and randomly draw winners for the 1-2 redemptions we would get as a very nicely valued extra.
The knock I have against UD1 is wayyy too much base and too many dupes for both YGs and GUs. SPA is great but I think the price point is a bit high for the results I've seen this year.
As for my custom set...I'm trying to get off of work in a couple weeks to go to an event where I'd be able to get some truly AMAZING players to sign. I've made a couple more customs but none have been printed yet. I plan on printing within the next week or so since I'm not working too much :)

Let me jump in on this having done a massive case break while on staff with SCF. In order to do multiple products takes ALOT of planning and even more time. If a staffer is willing to explore this idea, they can PM me about the +'s and -'s of doing this.
With that said, I love the idea of consecutive individual box breaks if you do it on a schedule and in the chat room. It does allow for Webcam connections.
