Monday morning weigh-in. Down 2 pounds. In four weeks now, i have lost 4-2-2-2, a total of 10 pounds. Heading in the right direction. Hard to have patience when you are as big as me, i would love to pick up the pace to 3 or 4 pounds a week for awhile before dropping back to 2, but at least its a loss. I hardly exercised last week, its really tough when you are gigantic and 62 years old, but i am gonna try to do more this week.

Keep it up guys! I'm starting a bit of a workout regimen myself. Not looking to lose weight necessarily, but looking to turn some of my fat into muscle. Best of luck to you all.

Fantastic, you did so great. For me, after doing well for over a month, i had a bad week last week and gained 2 pounds, very depressing. However seeing you do so well is inspiring me to get going stronger and do well this week myself.
Way to go bud.

Keep up the hard work man. This time last year I was 5'9" 225 pounds. After struggling to walk up three stories of stairs I decided I had to lose weight. Also, I realized diabetes and cardiovascular diseases are very common in my family, as I was/can be very susceptible to hypoglaucemia and can become anemiac rather easily. Did what most members on here did by cutting the calories, exercising, etc.
Personally, I changed my diet to have breakfeast by around 600 to 800 calories, lunch around 300-400 and dinner around 200 calories. So in the morning I was always hungry but you do lose most of your weight while you sleep. One big thing that I cut out of my diet was anything that has High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS), sucralose or any other man made sugar. Soda, ketchup, and many other products have HFCS. After doing some reading, saw that HFCS skips regulatory/metabolic steps, does not make you feel full and gets stored as fat by your body.
I also started to run (more like waddling for the first few weeks, lol) and P90X three times a week. After 16 weeks I was down to 180 pounds (45 pound loss) and ran my first marathon. A year later I am 185 pounds(fluctuates between 188 to 181) and have ran 7 marathons to date.
Before last year, I would go on weight loss programs for 3 or 4 months and lose about 20 pounds only to lose motivation and quit. But this time is different because everytime I run, do P90x or eat I am not looking at what I do as training. I have also found other physical activities that keep the heart rate going but are a lot of fun, cuban salsa dancing being one of them. I thoroughly enjoy doing what I do to keep myself healthy.
So to the orginal poster, keep up the hard work but more importantly do not stress yourself out too much about weight loss. Make sure your weight loss is healthy for your body type and find something that you enjoy doing as far as exercise goes.
