    I like the binder approach.

For my Ranford PC - I made a list of everything (got it from Beckett) and put everything into the binder, leaving spaces for cards I didn't have. As I got them, I filled in the empty spaces.

The Base, RCs, and most of the Inserts went into the binders. I actually left small notes with the name of the card I was missing in the empty spaces.

All the GU, Autos, and high-end inserts (there are a couple) I have in either top loaders, or one-touch magnetic cases (I'm slowing moving them all to one-touches, but it's expensive :).

My whole Russell collection is in a 3000 cnt box. 50% of them are in one touches which takes about half the box up. I'm trying to get everything, including base into one touches. It is pretty expensive, but I usually pick up 3-5 one touches every couple weeks from the LCS and eventually it'll get there. At that point I might think about throwing all of them into frames like shown above.

I put in binders Bases, inserts, RC's (low rookies), parallels and ''normal'' jerseys. In one-touchs - Autos, Patches, high-end stuff.

My friend, with his big Selanne PC (1500 cards and maybe more) has all the bases, inserts, RC's, parallels and i think some autos all in binders very well organized with all cards have their own spots. So in his binder, there's a lot of holes for a specific cards to go in.

I think it's very well organized that way and if you take care of your binder (not throwing it everywhere and store it away from all the dust etc.) it's the best way to sort bases, inserts and so on.
