What do you guys consider a long heartfelt letter? I wrote him a one page front and back letter talking about why I admire him and why he us one of my personal heroes. Just wondering if he would read a letter this long.

This is one of those questions that only you can answer. It's like asking what we think yellow looks like. It's a matter of personal opinion and expression. I don't think the length of the letter is as important as what it says about you and the reason for your request. If you're trying to get something for free, then you need to give him a reason to waive the fee. I would think that knowing you're a "true fan", appreciative of a player's career, impact on the game or society, social programs, shared memories, etc. are all starting points.

Alright yeah that's what I had in my letter. I guess I was more curious about how long of a letter is too long

$50 for Yogi is one of those fees that actually seems reasonable to me! I see guys who are nowhere near his talent getting more than that.

It really is reasonable, I just don't have the money to spend on him at the moment, so I'm taking a chance with an index card.

I have always believed in getting your money's worth. I'm attaching the price list from Don Larsen (note item #4) who pitched the only "perfect game" in World Series history. Seems to me that if you want Yogi bad enough to pay $50, then getting both of them for $40 is kind of a no brainer. On top of the ONLY perfect game in WS history!

Huh.
Thanks Lizard. I was wondering the best route to getting both of them on that photo...didn't realize what you put there was an option.

I agree with Lizard. That photo from directly from Don Larsen is the best deal around. I purchased one from Larsen a few years ago, and he even covers the postage. Highly recommend.
