It's been too busy for me to really do any customs. But I did whip up a quick one for this past weekend when I heard that Winnipeg Jets rookie Mark Scheifele would be signing at the Toronto Expo.

Gave it to a huge Jets collector and actually saw the finish card signed.
Knock on wood, I can submerse myself in the world of customs (even if only for a day) during my winter holidays).
Thanks for the look.

With the recent 'Beards' parallel in OPC and the conclusion of Movember, I was inspired to mock up some cards with the moustache concept.
Had some fun with these.

I really like the mask Thomas had made for the month. The bear on the backplate has a nice stache as well.

Solid look.

The look (and stache) on Moulson's face is great.

Scary, the handlebar actually looks good on Jagr.

While this look does not.

The 'Clutterstache' is probably my favourite. Not only did Cal's moustache have its own Twitter account, it also did an interview for NHL.com. Fantastic!

I'm getting around to building some customs over my holiday break.
These two have been on the plate for a while.

I like how the Lewis turned out. I might tweak the back a little since the text is a little too small (I tried to shove too much info in there).

For this Wilf Paiement cut auto, I decided to try something different (mostly because finding a good high res photo of him was tough.
I love the Colorado Rockies logo and colors anyways.
Thanks for the look.

I love that Celtics Legend custom. Had a similar idea for a Knicks one, but sadly, I'm not talented enough to pull it off.

A pair of new customs I've finished over the past week.

I'm happy with the way this one turned out. It's a simpler die cut for the auto to come out of (which made for a simpler cut job). I sometimes wonder why I try to make things more difficult than they need be.
This next one is without question the most important cut item I've done to date.
I really pushed the envelope and tried some new things. It took literally over 20 design attempts to come up with something I was happy with. After months of work, I can now sit back and enjoy the end result.

This Toronto Maple Leafs ticket stub comes from Game 3 of the 1967 Stanley Cup Finals. That's right......the last time the Leafs won it all.
And Game 3 was the double overtime game to boot.

With no real space on the front for any information, I had to tell the story on the back. A big concern of mine was not making the design look too cluttered. I think I walked the line just right.

The 'shadowbox effect' is a combination of shadow filters in photoshop and an actual shadowbox technique used in assembling the card.
Holding the card at arms length gives a fantastic 3D effect. Just what I was hoping for.

It took 3 hours just to assemble the card. Patience. It's all about patience.
What a fun ride!

Your ticket cut is beautiful. Not cool, beautiful. I love the shadow box look, love the design.
I do have a question about how you do your backs. Can I pm it to you?
