Pack searching solution
I dont know why this never occured to me before, its so simple its amazing companies havent already implemented this.
Remember how Donruss preferred came in tins? Or even Pinnicles inside which came in tin cans? Theres noway to search this! Who is for all companys implementing tins? I doubt it would cost them that much more its not like they dont charge ungodly amounts of money for packs already. Amother less costly option would be make solid colored packs with no see through (the backs of most fleer packs are easily see through) and insert dunny cards into everything. Or just insert dunny cards randomly (more frequently) so that just by feeling thickness you cant tell.
Obviously there are alot of things that can be done here, lets not just accept this any longer, write letters to all the card manufacterers demanding they do something about this!

packs could still be weighed but it would cut down on some pack feeling...I think decoys are a good solution but it seems some can get around them...make them weigh the sayme as the jersey cards

Sigh. Its disheartening that these kinds of steps have to be taken to keep the hoby honest. There is nothing more frustrating than going to the local retail shop and seeing nicer boxes (Flair, SP Authentic, Hogg Heaven) literally torn apart and shoved behind the rest of the product. I cant believe that grown men can somehow talk themselves into thinking that these underhanded techniques are ok. Isn't my money, or the money of a 12 yr old kid worth just as much as theirs? Why should they get the advantage just because they have no conscience? I mean, pretty much all of us in the hobby could probably pick out GU packs if we REALLY wanted to, but half of the fun of the hobby is the surprise when one unexpectedly pops out of a pack you just busted. By targeting GU packs and still paying the same price as the rest of us these collectors are ™™™™™™™izing the hobby and doing what he all abhor.... converting an enjoyable hobby into a pseudo-business of greed and fraud.

bamafan.. that may work but pack prices would be astromnomical... not only for the tin instead of plastic but shipping and storage as well..

I'm leaning towards staying away from opened retail boxes and saving up my money to purchase a hobby box. I figure the money I spent on packs could be applied to getting a hobby box. It is unfortunate that there are so many individuals destroying the hobby with their pack searching.

I think 1994 Flair had the best idea. It had a sealed cardboard pack with a sealed pack inside. Very nice and I'm sure hard to search with decoy cards inside. It still wouldn't stop the retail bums from opening the packs. So, retail gets the hard plastic that Sterling and Tribute have. They could put 3 or 4 packs in these plastic blister packs.

Another Great idea Just-For-Cards!!! I didnt think about the Flair packs but that would work good, and yes plastic clamshells like Pristine and Sterling etc etc ......lets roll with this I urge everyone to start writing the manufacturers if enough of us raise a fuss maybe they will do something. We have let this go on far enough!

I remember back in 2001 fleer geniune packs were basicly clear plastic on the back of the packs and every pack the incerts were the last card in the pack. I had desided to buy a few packs once at a walmart or kmart and i fliped the pack over to see what the odds were and i saw a thing that said congratulations you have just recived a redemption for a rookie autograph. I could not belive that the packs were so clear and the incerets were the last card in the pack. I bought a blaster box and every pack was just like that pack with the insert the last card in the pack and you could see what the card was. I got a jersey from that blaster box and the jersey was faceing the plastic wrap and you could see it clearly. Until companys fix there big problems like that stuff i don;t think anything will change.

Easy as 1-2-3
All the card companies have to do is insert a tab strip on the pack. Then, make the tab the only way the pack can be opened. The tab would face the back of the pack, and to open the pack, the tab would have to be 'ripped', or torn from left to right, exposing the top one-fifth of the cards. This way, no matter how much those scammers try to open a pack, they will not be successful in resealing. Just take away the end sealing process.
But nonetheless, with people (and am I not the only one who stereotypes old farts as doing this) weighing, feeling, and swiping packs, the only fool-proof method is to stay the hell away from retail like I do and buy hobby only.
