It posts like this that I LOVE.

The one's I don't get is "how much is this worth?" "did I get a good deal" and my recent favorite, the chit chat about where the UD site is/or it went down or something?
Really peeps, WHO CARES?
It's a hobby, life goes on with or without hockey cards! (for most I think)

Congrats on the new bike, now you'll not only get more enjoyment then sticking a card in a binder, you'll probably be a lot fitter than 90% of the folks in this hobby that veg on their duff at the computer and eat junk food all day while sitting on said duff!

You said 90% I said 95% lol......the reason they eat junk food is because they spent all their money on cards1

Triplets?!?!, you should be saving for a nanny, not The Cup cards.
A nanny will increase in value every-time you get 10 mins of sleep.
Congrats! and good luck!

Yeah, these posts that place this hobby in its proper context are always welcome.
Any money I put into cards comes after the mortgage, bills, RSPs, RESPs for the kids, mutual funds and other investments, and any house repairs or other improvements we need to do..........I can't imagine getting so carried away as to move it up that list of priorities.
And a good mountain bike is totally worth it - I dropped a ton of money on my latest one and it's been totally worth it.

Last month, all my cards fund goes to pay one of my two cats vet bills. The poor beast (her name is Zoé) suffered from an infection for almost a month. Got to go to the vet four times in four weeks. Cost me around 500 $.
But since then, looking at my fur ball running like hell in the house and jumping on my bed at 5 in the morning (even if she awakes me every time) worth much more than anything I could pull from a Cup tin. A lot much more!
This is no triplets (!), but that's the better example of “perspective” I could found :)
Thanks for giving me to opportunity to share!I collect the following:
- Vintage (Stars and RC)
- 2010-11 ITG Decades (Auto, GU, bases)
- Stars from the 1980s (in modern sets)
- Montreal Canadians Legends (bases, inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)
- Montreal Canadiens actual players (inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)
