If we are talking about cards that went up in value from the time of the pull to this day:

Two 1993 SP Derek Jeter cards that I pulled out from two of the 5 packs I bought (last 2 packs from an empty box and 3 packs from a newly opened box at the dealer) - the card was booking for $12 at the time

After 1996 I stopped buying packs and boxes. Too much money for cards of so little value. So I concentrated on singles/RCs and inserts from then on.

If we are talking about a pull that was high value off the bat:

1992-93 Hoops Magic's All-Rookie Team Shaq - $60 off the bat but sold it for $120 the next year when insert-mania was rising

If we are talking best pull on the 'dealer side' of things:

1992-93 Harold "Baby Jordan" Miner - all issues! I sold EVERYTHING of his at 60% bv right after he won the slam-dunk contest. Today you can't even give those cards away.

On a side note: My biggest disappointment was Latrell Sprewell. I invested so much in his cards - the high-end ones, nonetheless. He had potential. The way he torched the Knicks (the toughest defensive team in the league at the time) for 41 points in his rookie year. It wasn't the scoring, but the way he moved. Reminded me so much when Jordan just started out - sinewy, fluid, quick, in control and on target.

Went to the shop to buy supplies. The whole time I was driving there, I was thinking to myself, if there's a fresh opened box of Leaf Limited with no packs gone, I'll buy 1 pack. I was feeling the mojo. Sure enough, I got my supplies, saw a fresh box. Some guy there was contemplating getting a pack. They were expensive, at $75 a pack. I said are you going to buy anything out of this box? He said I'm still thinking about it. He was wearing a Bears hat, real cool guy. I said well if you don't mind, I'm gonna grab a pack and open it. He's like sure. I paid for it, opened it at the store, and pulled a Dual Moniker Auto/Jsy of Gale Sayers/Ladainian Tomlinson numbered to 10. My best pull so far. I even have my picture taken and posted on the wall at the shop. This is the same shop where the 04 LCM Mirror Black Eli Manning was pulled.

about 10 years ago I pulled an Emmitt Smith insert that booked at around $80. It was huge for me because I collect him. Now the card books at $30 i think. Also pulled a Brett Favre Artist proof insert that booked over $100 but has gone down since then. I just started collecting again this year so the best card I've pulled is a McNabb parallel /10.

Might as well jump in here. In 2003 I pulled a Diamond Kings g/u bat of TY Cobb. Sold on ebay for $150 with a buy it now. And then my killer pull was from a couple boxes of 03 bowman draft picks I got from one of Pete's case breaks over at The Bench. Pulled a chrome gold refractor auto of Ryan Harvey. Have no idea what it'd be worth today but I sold it real quick on ebay for about $325 I believe it was. There were two others right before mine that sold for $330 and $390 so I was really bummed out I got the lowest price, waaaaah. LOL

Best pull was back in 1991...

I bought a couple of packs back in 1991 of Upper Deck Basketball. It was their first year, and I was looking for the Larry Johnson and Zo RC's. I ended up pulling a Jerry West autograph, numbered to 2500 (seems high now a days for an autograph). I sold it a week later for $450. Not bad since you can now buy the card on Ebay for $30...

    Jay
